Frequent Rock Candy readers will no doubt remember Shining Rae, nee Shannin Watkins, who competed in the most recent Times Musicians Showcase and impressed the judges with her "Sugar"-y sweet pop song-craft and incredible singing.
Watkins recently wrapped up her contribution to "20-Somethings’ Stories," which is "a 4-part series of blog entries written by women attempting to conquer their Quarter Life" for the blog Life2PointOh.
If you happen to be in New York City on Saturday, she's playing a show at the Shrine World Music Venue in Harlem with her friend Damien Richards. Here's the flier for more information.
