Beebe native Cody Belew earned some serious props from all four judges on NBC's "The Voice" last night by putting his own stamp on the George Michael hit "One More Try."
Belew's stellar performance elicited a rare near-cuss from Blake Shelton, who said "Gosh dang, Team CeeLo is full of so many threats for the rest of us." He said Belew has become one of his favorites on the show "and one of my wife's favorites on the show." Got that? Miranda Lambert digs Cody Belew.
Christina Aguilera concurred. "You're one of my favorites on the whole show," she said, adding that
Adam Levine thought CeeLo Green's choice of "One More Try" was "genius" and told Belew it was "a brilliant song for you, you did a brilliant job performing it, and I believe. I'm a believer now man, you're amazing."
CeeLo looked positively tickled with Belew, telling him he looked like a seasoned professional. "I'm very, very proud of you," he said. "You've matured and you perfected that performance."
Tune in tonight at 7 p.m. to find out if Belew earned enough votes to stay on the show, or if, failing that, CeeLo decides to keep him in the running.
You can watch Belew's performance after the jump or buy the song on iTunes.
