New video from Taylor Moon, 'Let It Go'

Posted By on Mon, Jun 16, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Little Rock's Taylor Moon, who we last posted about back in April, released a new video this afternoon, for "Let It Go," produced by Mach Soul. The clip finds her moodily loitering outside of a liquor store, brown-bagging it and barely visible in the neon — an appropriate vibe for an introspective r&b song with lyrics like "All I want to feel is nothing."

Here's the latest from Goon des Garcons, "Publicity Stunt," in which the Young God slow-motion strolls around The Fold and gets mobbed by fans (over a beat by Mach Soul). Below. an extended version featuring Lightskin Mac 11 from the Atlanta collective Two-9. /more/
  • New mixtape from Cool Chris, 'Leftover Gram$'

    August 20, 2014
Cool Chris, of Little Rock's Young Gods of America collective, has a new tape out this week, "Leftover Gram$," the follow-up to his April release "Trap Conversations." Local beat-makers BLACK PARTY, Mach Soul and iamNAWF all show up, and Chris mostly takes a mellow, vibe-over-substance approach, letting the production take the front seat. /more/

    July 16, 2014
Reggie Gold is another member of the local Young Gods of America collective worth paying attention to — this song appeared two days ago and has a weird, eerie Danny Elfman energy. He's also really great at Twitter, where he says things like, "i have flashbacks of ancient memories all through out the day..they be of the most vivid dreams." /more/

Here's a good, mellow video to start your week off with, the latest from Cool Chris, who is a lonesome soul. The beat is by North Little Rock native and brilliant person IAmNawf and the clip was apparently shot by fellow beatmaker Fresco Grey. If you missed "Trap Conversations," Chris' tape from back in April, now is your chance to catch up. /more/
  • New video from Goon des Garcons, 'April 18th'

    May 15, 2014
Here's a new video from YGOA and Little Rock's own Goon des Garcons, in which he mostly smokes weed, hangs out with a cool dog and warns you not to fuck with his luggage. It looks like a pretty good time, which is what I would expect from a guy who took us on a nature hike in his last visual, for "Thanks 4 Nothing." /more/
  • New song from Taylor Moon, 'Final Fantasy MMXIV'

    April 22, 2014
I'm late to this one, but you should have a listen to "Final Fantasy MMXIV" by Little Rock's Taylor Moon, released earlier this month. It pairs a pretty simple, lovely melody with a beat that's all heavy low-end and erratic synth noodling. Mach Soul, a.k.a. Kaylan Marks, produced the track, along with Moon's "King Tut," from a couple of months ago. /more/
