Here's your reminder to check out the Peter Watkins double feature Splice Microcinema is screening tonight. I don't know Watkins' films, but he's apparently the man who single-handedly convinced John Lennon and Yoko Ono to hold their Bed-in peace protest in 1969, which is some kind of accomplishment. "The War Game" is the classic — it was initially banned by the BBC, and later won the Academy Award for Best Documentary. As one newspaper at the time put it, "It is a brilliant film, a brutal film. But I would never let any son of mine see it."

1. Fresco Grey - "Twin Turbo"

Don't ever underestimate Fresco Grey. For one thing, when he isn't rapping about jet-skis and Dasani water, he works on airplanes. So when he raps about engines (even if he isn't actually rapping about engines), we should listen.

2. Yung Envy and Snapback Pac - "Dick Slangin Youngin"

Yung Envy dropped a new tape a week or so ago called "Why Write It Down?" The idea is that it's all freestyles, which, I don't know, wouldn't typically be a huge selling point for me. It's pretty great, though, especially when they keep the hooks to a minimum and let the production spiral out of control. This beat sounds like an `80s spy movie theme, and is that a djembé?

3. It Rained Again On Sunday - "A Smaller Stare"

Little Rock's It Rained Again On Sunday say they write "short improvised songs, murder ballads, and sound collages utilizing whatever is at hand." For fans of Nick Cave and all other purveyors of slow, skewed, dreary post-punk.

4. Radradriot - "Bicycle"

North Little Rock duo Radradriot is having a release show for their new cassette tonight at ZAZA in Conway (with Lifer and Rawhead). Here's the first single, which is Not Safe For Work on account of its being savage.

5. Jvy Allen - "Playa Ways"
A blissed-out, cloud-rap sex jam from a man with an unpronounceable first name.
