The Historic Arkansas Museum‘s two new exhibitions opening today for tonight’s 2nd Friday Art Night, 5-8 p.m., offer a contrast in traditional and new: folk paintings from the collection by Josephine Graham (1915-1999) and mixed media by UCA graduate Suyao Tian. The museum will also be serving Lost Forty’s Belgian Blonde with finger food from Graham’s (out of print) “Suggin Cookbook.” “Suggin Territory: The Marvelous World of Folklorist Josephine Graham” runs through Nov. 29; “Suyao Tian: Entangled Beauty” runs through June 7.

Other 2nd Friday events tonight: “Inside the Valley,” paintings by Arkansas River Valley artists Tammy Harrington, Neal Harrington and David Mudrinich, continues at Arkansas Capital Corp. and will feature live music from singer/songwriter Adam Faucett. “White River Memoirs,” artwork collected by canoist and photographer Chris Engholm along the White, opens at the Butler Center Galleries, where The Arkansas Weather will provide music. Sean LeCrone is the featured artist at Gallery 221, where another show, “Internationally Artified,” is up. The string  trio Geoff Robson, Felice Farrell and Ryan Mooney will perform at the Old State House Museum.
