New local web series, 'My Favorite Guitar,' kicks off with John Willis

Posted By on Mon, Jun 22, 2015 at 10:01 AM

Here's a very promising new local web series by my friend and former colleague, Gerard Matthews. It's called "My Favorite Guitar" and the gist is as simple as the title suggests: Matthews gets local musicians to talk about their favorite guitar and then play a song with it. First up is John Willis, who's most often thought of as a piano player, but here talks about his Ovation acoustic guitar, which he uses to play "King of the Cocktail Party."

Matthews said he's hoping to do an episode every month.
