The New York Film Festival, which opens on September 29th.  The Queen starring Helen Mirren opens the 17-day festival.  Other notable films include Volver, Little Children, and Marie Antionette.

Don’t look for full reviews of any of these films in the New York Times.  According to Variety, the Times isn’t releasing full reviews by any of its critics.  They will, however, offer their thoughts in “Critics Notebook,” which they do for other festivals.
