This is not new thinking, but I’ll remind everyone that what Jason Rapert and his fellow thugs in the Arkansas General Assembly are doing is the same thing small-town school boards do when the promote prayer in school. They are making themselves look good to a small coterie of ignorant Biblebullies at the expense of the whole community. In this case, the community is the entire state, and the people who will pick up the tab for this inanity will be the Arkansas taxpayers.
I’m an old fart who lives in one of those elitist neighborhoods (Hillcrest), and I can tell you I’m delighted by what is happening in SoMa. My wife and I go there often to enjoy the food and other attractions offered by the local business owners there. Watching and being among the young people with children who frequent SoMa does my soul good. SoMa is rapidly becoming one of the most civilized sections of Little Rock.
Dave Rickard was a good man. He worked tirelessly to end capital punishment in Arkansas. He will be missed, but the effort to end the death penalty will continue with Dave's spirit guiding us.
Remember when Republicans did everything they could block Elizabeth Warren’s appointment to director of the Consumer Protection Agency? Funny how that strategy worked out.
What a bunch of sellouts. If Ross wins the primary, the DPA will expect Halter supporters to support Ross in the general. But of Halter wins, the DPA will desert him. Why? Because that's the sort of people that are members of the DPA.
For the record, Justified just finished its fourth season. If you missed the first two, you owe it to yourself to go back and see the first two seasons, especially season two with Margo Martindale as Mags Bennett. She brings a whole nuther dimension to femme fatale.
Thanks, RYD, for your useful and sober response. This is a tragic situation, and I beleive that nothing the courts could do would be of any value to anyone. Guns are dangerpous. Some people just don't undersand how dangerous they are.
Enjoying the latest Rwinger/'bagger freakout.
