Just back from a long vacation, I don't feel my usual dislocation. Internet connections were sketchy, but I read the Arkansas Times and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and stayed up with e-mail.

Re: “UPDATED: Blue Hog Report: How lobbyist Eric Munson landed high-paying state job with questionable qualifications

I wouldn't trust this slimy stinky little sob as far as I could throw him. Good work BH.

Re: “Legislative special session for defense-related economic development project likely coming soon

General Dynamics runs a facility there and it's huge. 600,000 or 700,000 square feet. Those are good paying jobs. My Dad worked for G.D. In Fort Worth and one of his friends was sent up here to manage that facility. He absolutely loved the people and state. Let's hope that's who it is.

Re: “Mountain home veterinarian saves dog who lunched on live ammunition

My oldest son's black lab really enjoyed eating everything in the house. A couple of 45 shells that she passed masterfully, Levelor blinds (our room, 2sets) and window seals (our room). Our vet gave us Amtriptyline twice a day (I guess it's doggy Prozac) and she's fine. My son and his fiancé just bought a house and have decided that they love cats so guess who has custody of this lab.

Re: “Baker Kurrus will be Little Rock's new superintendent

I said exactly what I wanted to say. I don't think that the Walton's have him in their pocket.

Re: “Baker Kurrus will be Little Rock's new superintendent

I don't think so NVR. Remember back to the mid eighties and he was named counsel to Walmart. He came back to Little Rock within a couple of months. I've never had the feeling they were in his pocket.

Re: “Heights Taco and Tamale is a fantastic throwback

D - I'm with you on the three Amigos. Just because you tended bar at Cajuns and your Daddy gave you a ton of money doesn't mean you can run Brownings. I'm just glad Don Phelan got his money as he was a good steward of Brownings. As for Yellow Rocket I think they will also be good stewards of the place. Scott grew up going there with his Dad and also grandparents. And the grandparents hailed from Texas so they loved TexMex on special occasions. I do know that Boyd Montgomery who was the original owner of Brownings has daughters that are friends of Scott's aunts and I think he will make it a point to do them proud and respect it's heritage.

Re: “Suggs folds, unapologetically, for witch hunt against Jefferson teachers

I'm with rosso. Suggs picked a foolish battle with Jefferson because the Forest Park patrons will support Jefferson as they both meet up at Pulaski Heights Junior High. The Walton's may be able to write big checks but the patrons of Jefferson and Forest Park put in a lot of sweat equity into those schools and they will go after Suggs and Key in a heartbeat. And I hope that happens.
