Mountaingirl, maybe I am crazy, but I believe that cure of many types of cancer and many other diseases have already been found through research and clinical trials. Imagine the collapse of our hospitals and the entire health care system if those cures were revealed.

One of your best posts ever, DBI. Wish I could "like" it more than once. What I did for my kids was to raise them to be good people and made sure they understood that furthering their education was the priority. I wanted them to be twice as successful as I am, and they rewarded me by pursuing their dreams, getting educated, and they are all successful beyond my imagination. They have new cars and travel when they feel like it; have money in the bank, and yet they have never abandoned the core principles they grew up with. All of them vote liberal, subscribe to the idea that when you are one of the "haves," you try to help the "have-nots." They read, they study, they keep up with what's going on in the world. And they gladly pay taxes and support charities.
Your girls are going to be fine because you and mag have raised them right. I feel sorry for the Romney and Huckster kids, because they will never have peace like your kids and my kids enjoy.

Facebook is awesome. My hubby's medical bills wiped us out years ago. Now I am sick but I stubbornly refuse to run up bills that would absolutely ruin him when I die. So when I checked his FB account tonight. it surprised me that some of his "friends" are posting the most vile, ignorant, uninformed, and yes, racist comments I have ever seen. And most of them work for the government or are drawing a check every month for disability or SSA. It's just mind-blowing. It would almost be funny if not so sad. I have some friends I have to delete as well. You just can't change their bigoted minds, so i am not going to bother. They can take their hate somewhere else.
