I love K Hall and Sons! I believe I posted on the Food Feedback Friday blog months ago that it was one of the best kept secrets around.
I was in Fayetteville over the weekend with my g/f who is vegan. We had lunch at Greenhouse Grille, and both of us were pleased with our orders. She had the black bean patty and a half salad, while I had the fish tacos. Everything is fresh and many items are locally grown.
We were joined at dinner by another vegan friend at Taste of Thai. They have a very extensive vegan/vegetarian menu, and each meal can be customized for individual spiciness ranging from mild to Thai hot.
I bought the chipotle hummus last Saturday at the market, and it is suberb.
Thanks for writing this and sharing it, Mrs. Sister.
A friend and I went there for dinner tonight, and I had yet to read this review. I found it to be very lacking in taste, and it is a limited menu. We passed on $8.99 for the queso--no mention of the size, and it seemed pricey. I had 2 chicken enchiladas that were basically shredded chicken in a flour tortilla, drizzled with queso on the top, and had no seasoning that I could tell. Two little square serving dishes maybe 3x3 inches contained what appeared to be heated canned black beans and the other was rice. All of that for $12.00. Diet coke was $2.05, and no prices to be found for mixed drinks.
I don't like Brownings, but I would rather go there than spend my money at Mamacitas. I won't be going back, nor will my friend.
I agree with Michael that the salsa is lacking, and the service was, too. We had to ask for menus, napkins, and silverware.
The Racquet Club is a private club in Foxcroft: tennis, swimming, weights. For some reason, I thought Hugh Mann was a member there so that's why I mentioned it to him.
