Raw milk? Do your body a favor and ditch the dairy.
All these horror stories about picking up kids from schools make the case for neighborhood schools-that way children can bike or walk to school.
I loved the year I was able to walk or bike to school. I lived about a mile and a half from one of my elementary schools. I loved being able to bike home or just walk home. I liked walking more because some of my friends would walk with me and we could just talk.
Of course with central Arkansas being so car-centric, I don't see this idea gaining much traction. [No pun intended.]
It's pretty sad we have to convince lawmakers to do the right thing by talking about how many jobs this will bring to the state rather than how many lives will be improved. I'm not begrudging anyone from playing this angle, but it is pretty sad this is what will swing some lawmakers.
Wow, $125 million for 500 jobs? I hope this company sticks around for AT LEAST 500 years, provided the human species is even around then.
There's that 30 percent overhead for private health insurance.
I wish I could be there. I'm in IL for grad school so I think that holds as a good "excuse."
I'm glad to say I have met LeeWood Thomas and he's a great guy. I had been to a few AR Freethinkers meetings and he always impressed me.
Discrimination? I see no discrimination in his speech.
Now if you want to talk discrimination, Republicans are pretty well-acquainted with that concept. Let's look at their views regarding: abortion, prison sentences, safety nets, etc. all of which have a disproportionate impact on people of color and women.
That's not to say Democrats have not been complicit in attacks on vulnerable populations (see: non-white people, women, people who are poor, etc.) as well but Republicans can take a lot of the responsibility, if they want to be honest.
Re: “Sway”
I had a great time at Sway. The dance floor wasn't too crowded and they played current music along with a few oldies but goodies mixed in.
