The turtles in the Arkansas River appreciate the sunning platform created by the one just off of Jimmison Creek.
I see in today's paper that she has trotted out the typical Republican talking points: Make State Government more efficient and the state needs a Pro-Business governor.
The guns in church was on the agenda at our last church council meeting and the group voted "No" without any hesitation.
"That closure of the River Mountain Road access ain't working. I was there Tuesday and it was as packed as ever. The county has been dragging its feet for months on fixing the problem."
The problem is that it is the City of LR not the County working on this problem. The city that wants to claim they are bike friendly but in actuality only give lip service to it.
Even if Beebe did veto the tax cuts the legislature would override them like they have the other bills he's vetoed.
"state employees aren't likely to see much of a pay increase again"
State Employees haven't seen a pay increase since December of 2010 and that was the one they were supposed to have gotten back on 07/01/2010.
Re: “Work on River Trail gap starts Monday”
Go to the BDB and Two Rivers parking lots on Saturday morning and see all the people making use of the trail and the bridges. If my memory is correct Dillards and EPCS had to get some zoning variances from the city to build and the city should have put wording the variance that said they had to give a right of way. But of course strong Mayor Stodala and the Chamber didn't want that. Cyclists don't care about that washed out spot in the River Trail right now since that section goes nowhere but the railroad track.
