Re: “Sue Evers pleads not guilty in singer impersonation case

Good grief! I look more like Alison Krauss than this woman....and I don't look ANYTHING like Alison Krauss!

Re: “The Republican war on food stamps

I have just one question for all those so offended that a person using a couple of hundred dollars a month in food stamps might be purchasing an item YOU feel they shouldn't be allowed to have.....

Where is your outrage over the billions of dollars of corporate welfare that flow into the pockets of some of the most successful companies in this country?

In more than just the money, that certainly costs us taxpayers a hell of a lot more than the food stamp program ever will.

Oh, but by all means, let's beat up on the poor folks who are just trying to feed their kids the best they can on some of the cheapest and crappiest food on the market.

Re: “Tim Griffin's dishonest campaign against Lifeline phone service

Thanks, MEnLR, for providing those additional facts about the 'free' phones. One would think, as a sitting congressman, Griffin would at the very least educate himself with some FACTS. Sheesh!

Been experiencing some storms rolling through NWA this evening. Had to gather up the dogs and head to the safe room once when the sirens went off. Might not be the only time tonight.
Y'all stay safe out there!

Re: “The piegate open line

Thanks, NVR. Yes, I have a sister over there just south of Moore. Fortunately she's traveling right now, and as far as we know, her place is okay.
Man, eLwood's right! It really blew through here. We're without power, passing a very quiet evening under the kerosene lamps. Hope they get us back on soon.

Re: “Martha Shoffner buzz

What the hell gets into these people once they get into public office? Oh, I suppose the personality and ego are already there, so perhaps it's the power they think they hold. The power to be rulers of their own little kingdoms.

I sat on one of the juries in one of the several lawsuit brought by former employees against Pulaski Co. Assessor Janet Ward. While in the end we found the plaintiff had not sufficiently proven their specific case and we could not find in their favor, the information that came out about the way that Ward rules over the assessor's office was nothing short of appalling. Saddest of all was to learn that she even refers to herself as the 'Queen Bee' who all must obey. Y'all would not believe what's gone on in that office.

Sounds like Ward and Shoffner are cut from similar cloth. Republican or Democrat, anyone who abuses the position they have been given by the people should be made to face whatever consequences result from it.

Re: “Friday finish — An oldie but goodie for legislature? A rebuttal for Tom Cotton

Oh, Durango, if only it could've been! Our ASJ told us he was only 28, and cute as could be in every way! Between him and all the others who just spontaneously joined us, it was great fun!

I can attest, indeed, Sis! It was one of the most bizarre and fun evenings I've ever experienced!
