  • Mugs Cafe has much to offer

Though it’s still a relative newcomer to Argenta, Mugs Café fits this part of town like a glove. Get up to Mugs for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner (they close at 6 pm). Service is warm and you’ll be eager to return after just one visit.

Re: “Morning notes: Pryor-Cotton, Otey, New Hampshire private option

There's a nice restaurant called North there in Denver, and the one time I ate there it was fanTAStic. Pricey, though.

Re: “Andy Mayberry's brilliant plan: Elect me and I'll abolish the office

Okay, aiming to abolish the office is a good plan. Here's what I want to hear next: He'll hire no staff, refuse to participate in state retirement, zero out the budget except for the Lite Gov salary, and then prorate that to an hourly wage that he'll be paid for the time he actually spends performing the office's constitutional duties, and for nothing else.

Here's another side to this coin: Can we also amend away the ridiculous requirement that the governor can't act if he's out of state? Seriously, let's acknowledge that we don't communicate by messengers on horseback anymore.

Re: “Arkansas Literary Festival 2014 lineup announced

Jeff VanderMeer, an excellent sci-fi writer and immensely clever guy, will be a highlight for me.

Re: “Spending bill renames White River refuge for Dale Bumpers

I strongly believe that nothing owned by the taxpayers should be named after a living person, or after a person who has been dead less than 20 years (with exceptions for military personnel and first responders killed in the line of duty).

Re: “Ringing in the New Year in the country's "most livable" city

I'd like to see their documentary for "often fatal results." How many times has that happend in LR over the years? I certainly agree that people shouldn't be shooting guns into the air for any reason, but LRPD should not be relying on hyperbole to make their point.
