Cordell's was the first place I ever saw Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream in Little Rock.
It's actually only a quarter-measure, as they still exclude non-religious youths and leaders.
Congrats on the weight loss, Max! I'm doing largely the same thing: Eating more sensibly and walking 5 miles a day. I've dropped 23 out of a hoped-for 100. Go us!
Another entry that is diminished by being behind glass: Rhonda Reeves Converse's baseball game, which has actual recordings of the late Jim Elder, calling Arkansas Traveler games, available at the touch of a button.
Thank you, that was beautiful. I've thought about making a similar trip with my father's ashes, to Austria where he lived and worked after WWII, and his hometown of Piper City, Ill., and the pine forest land he used to own in southwest Arkansas. Cheers, Max, and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
My first Chinese food as a child came from here, back when it was known as Leung's Chinese Kitchen. I still love their shrimp egg foo yung, but will have to try the Catnonese pressed duck now. The Fun family (that's how it's pronounced, at least) who has owned it for years now are wonderful people, and I am always happy to hear Mrs. Fun say, "Chinese Kitchen, can I help you?" when she picks up the phone.
Good man!
Writin' for pay, when I can find the work.
