  • Mugs Cafe has much to offer

Though it’s still a relative newcomer to Argenta, Mugs Café fits this part of town like a glove. Get up to Mugs for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner (they close at 6 pm). Service is warm and you’ll be eager to return after just one visit.

Re: “Ask the Times (me, in other words) UPDATE

If you had taken the job at Spectrum Weekly instead of Arkansas Times in '91, how do you think things would've turned out for each pub? MAX RESPONDS: Spectrum still wouldn't have survived. Maybe the Arkansas Times would have done better. The list of people who've stopped advertising because they don't like my politics is long and growing.

Re: “Attorney general candidates debate, split on fights with feds

A note to the Libertarian candidate: If you're going to appear before a room full of Arkansas journalists, it's probably best to at least know something about the state FOIA besides "I hear sometimes it takes a long time to get stuff." Even if you've never filed a state FOIA request (your federal requests notwithstanding), you maybe should have read the law, read some of the case law, and talked to some journos about their concerns over ongoing attempts to amend it into oblivion.

Re: “Independence Day: Independents don't rule

Actually: 1) Open primaries. Voting is a function of the Constitution, not of any political party, and they should not have any sway on how primaries are run. Let the voters pick who they may, crossing whatever lines they want. It's their vote, therefore it's their right.

Re: “University of Arkansas responds to latest Hillary records hit

For my part, I question the university's ability to claim copyright protection on public information. Why would it not be straight-up FOIable, then usable as the requester pleases. I need to look through my FOIA handbook and see if it says anything.

Re: “`60s Little Rock pop, Australian TV, nostalgic fonts and Dolly Parton duets

Good selection, David Ramsey. Here's my go-to meditation on the topic:
