I advocate Golf Cart tipping as a form of protest speech. Any golf cart parked on a public sidewalk or parking spot ought to be fair game.
Lets devote more time to the arts and incorporate the Arts in more of our core studies and maybe students would give more of a damn about math, science, history, social studies, english. The whole problem with our Arts in Education right now is its based on teaching students about information they should know without putting it in a relevant contemporary context! The Arts can be used to teach students about every single core subject and yet we insist on cutting its funding and its time at every opportunity. ART, whether its music, drawing, painting, sculpture, design, writing, etc, elicits the most creative and engaged participation because it is an expression of culture and experiences filtered through the lens of its creators and thus incredibly relevant and powerful to the kids who can say, "I made that" or "Wow, I never thought about it that way." Obviously I could rant on. But let me sum it up with this, Art is the foundation of human expression and communication, it reaches across languages, cultures, and time, because every pot, poem, doodle, magazine, iPhone, movie, etc is a physical representation of the human thought that went into it. And when you're a child and realize far more went into the design and creation of items that effect your everyday life, you suddenly have a far greater appreciation for the world around you and how you can learn from and influence it.
Just to throw in my 2 cents... What the hell is CPS thinking letting this right wing religious mouthpiece speak for it!?! To Arms Conway Parents! The school district knows the rules regarding religion in school. My first and only concern is I thought only family could sign in and visit students on campus. Since when can any adult waltz onto campus claiming to be friend of a student and actually be allowed to hang out??? I did an internship at Central High and I logged in every day as a visitor with the express consent of the school and a teacher sponsor. I don't get how this is even allowed.
I would call Chi's Too, if nothing else, dependable and predictable. Quality is always good and fresh which are positives. If your looking for surprising and new and different and intensely flavor packed you might want to try somewhere else. I find it a great place to pick up a quick lunch or dinner though.
Flags are at half mast last i heard because a local soldier was killed in Afghanistan. Last I heard anyways.
Baja has a website as well. http://www.eatbajagrill.com/ My favorite place to eat out in Saline County. Hours, on website. Synopsis, open for lunch, closed, and open 5-8:30 or 9 for dinner. Totally worth the trip.
Re: “Legislative pay raise amendment comes out of committee”
My God. It sounds like those Repulicans that took over the arkansas State Government don't ever want to leave, or allow the public to propose legislation, while getting paid by private interests. I'm beginning to think we'll have to kick them with our own hands and feet. Before long women won't be able to vote or own property, kids will be working in the mills, and people of color will have their own segregated world again. And I'm pretty sure "illegal immigrants" will be so much fodder for corporate interests to abuse without restrictions cause they won't really need rights to be treated properly by good 'ole capitalism.
