Had a wonderful brunch with the fam at Arthur's yesterday. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was crowded, but that's brunch on Mother's Day. Mr. Barakat was working the omelette station and doing a really good job.
Had a fine dinner at Acadia. Huge short rib that probably won't be on the menu long. Couldn't eat it all and brought home my dessert. Could only eat half of it later but I'm looking forward to oatmeal cinnamon bread pudding with coffee tomorrow!
I had to laugh at your comment, Jenniferb--I'm eating leftovers from Taj right now (Aloo Gobi). Yummy yummy stuff. I like that they give you a basket of papadams and I took the leftovers of those home.
They had an event celebrating the near completion of phase 1? So "hey, we're almost done with 20% of a project!" ? Wow....
Had the Local salad with steak from Local Lime for lunch today. Really good salad (not that I'd expect less) with a really good dressing. I should have ordered the steak medium or medium rare, but it was fine as it came. Fresh corn, black beans, shaved jalapeƱo and a nice spice mix tossed in. Not an every day lunch at $13, but if I'd eaten breakfast, I could have made 2 meals out if it.
Oh Michael...surely the subjective nature of food isn't unfamiliar to you? ;-) "It just ain't my kind of burger". Key phrase. I find that I could use a little more seasoning on their chips. But then, I do like lots of stuff on chips.
I agree that the indulged young'us with tons of cash vibe can get old. When I had the lobster burger, I quickly tired of being kicked by a 4 year old whose parents were more concerned with what they'd just bought. IF you can block that out, it has a "feel" kinda like Boulevard Bread (to me).
Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun with the Caucus and the burgers!
Re: “Cowboy up at Sonny Williams”
Their steaks are good....but are they still Omaha Steaks? One reason to go out is to get food I can't get at home. I can cook an Omaha Steak.
