How much has been spent so far? Because Mayor Stodola is suggesting that we go back to where we should have started, which will likely render all the previous studies worthless. Are the firms conducting the studies selected by (and members of) The Chamber of Commerce? What are the chances that $20 million will be spent on studies and plans without anything ever being built?
Right on the proposed light rail link between WLR and Downtown. I don't remember if that was among the subterranean stretches, cause if it were, a short spur could join the North and South campuses and the new residential buildings near Target!
Whod've ever figured that a white supremacist would hire a racist attorney? Then plead that that proves he's incompetent!
That reminds me of the Saturday Night Live skit in the 70, that showed series' of billboards that had novels written on them so you could read Moby Dick or War and Peace as you drove down the road.
Brought to you by the Petroleum Council.
An open letter to Former Senator David Pryor,
Many, or most of the readers of this blog still respect the hell out of you. We supported your son to succeed you largely because of the fact that he was your son. We assumed that some of your honor and integrity had to have rubbed off on him, at least a little. Of course it didn't take long for us to realize that he was an embarrassment to you and your legacy. It has been painful for us to watch as he dismantled many of the important advances that you worked so hard to accomplish. We watched as he shamefully allowed the country to regress by decades by siding with the Republicans on so many important issues. We swallowed hard and maintained our respect for you, because we understood that your refusal to voice your disappointment in him was rooted in a father's love for his son. But there comes a point when even a father a has to denounce his son, when that son's actions go beyond the Pale. Your embarrassment of a son did that today. Instead of thinking of his constituency, or the good of the Country, or even the legacy of his father, he instead did the bidding of the gun manufacturers lobby, the NRA.
Former Senator David Pryor, today is the day. You and Dale Bumpers did the RIGHT thing in 1994 by voting for the Assault Weapons Ban. You did the RIGHT thing limiting the size of magazines. Had those bans not been repealed with the help of your embarrassment of a son, the Sandy Hook Assassin and his Mother wouldn't have been able to buy the weapons that allowed him to pump 154 bullets into 20 six and seven year-olds and the six adults trying to protect them. He'd have been forced to use the ten round magazines that he decided to leave at home, presumably because they would have slowed down the carnage.
Now is the time for even a father, who has any desire to preserve his good reputation, to publicly rebuke those who votes are indefensible. Now is the time. Your son needs to know where you stand, and that you will not stand quietly by as he votes to defeat a bill requiring universal back ground checks that has the support of 90% country's citizens and 70% of NRA members. If you refuse now, we'll learn that our respect for you was unjustified from the start.
See! We never should have allowed heterosexuals to teach in our schools.
Re: “Prosecutor to review shooting for possible charges”
Back on subject:
As I learned in my concealed carry course, be advised, that discharging a firearm in city limits (as in warning shot in the air) is against the law, and can be considered an aggravated assault. And an allowable response to an aggravated is to shoot to kill the person assaulting you.
