The middle one looks like an ad for a Tunica casino.

Re: “Travis McConnell runs the Capital bar while prepping Butcher & Public

"[S]ince McConnell and Dupree updated the [Wednesday lunch special], you will not get a seat if you arrive any later than 11:20 a.m."

This is not hyperbole. I pulled-up to the valet today at 11:30 and he said, "Mr. Observer, if you're coming for lunch, I hate to tell you that there is, unfortunately, going to be a forty-five minute wait."

Re: “H.A.M., slammed

ThermosDay,

In common restaurant parlance, to be "slammed" is to be very busy.

Re: “The greatest robo-poll ever

Sounds like Drew Pritt is doing some push polling prior to his forthcoming announcement.

But where'd he bum the money?

Re: “Boozman no friend of immigrants here now

If amnesty was good enough for the confederate rebels who rose in armed resurrection against the federal government, surely it is good enough for chicken sexers who pay into federal insurance programs without getting anything in return.

Re: “UPDATE: Dustin McDaniel: He can hide, but can he run?

I feel sorry for the poor and talented saps who've been toiling away for Dustin for years at government wages in hopes of riding high once he achieves higher office.

Since he was elected to office, there's been a steady departure of members of his top political staff from the "eleventh floor." I think every member of his permanent dozen-person political team is new since 2007. Most of Mike Beebe's extremely coterie has been with him at least a decade. Working closely with Dustin, perhaps they've seen him as too loose a cannon?
