@StevenE
From the article your referenced:
"When Dodge City residents organized their municipal government, do you know what the very first law they passed was? A gun control law."
Maybe they thought uncontrolled gun access was a problem.
I don't see many bikes on sidewalks. They belong on the road, so not much reason for them to be there, and certainly pedestrians shouldnt have to get out of the way.
Having lived in California where "whitelining" is allowed on the highways and motorcycles can cruise the white lines diving lanes on the freeway, bikes crusing slowly past stopped cars doesn't make me cringe.
Personally, I don't have a problem with bikes that approach stop signs and slow to .1 mph but don't actually stop but I know that is illegal and I've seen CA cops give out lots of tickets for it ...................but LA cops would ticket 1/2 the pedestrians in Heights and Hillcrest----you have to walk the the corner, and cross in the crosswalk where you have the absolute right-of-way or you are jaywalking and subject to fine
@StevenE - ". Years ago, there was an older couple attacked in a WalMart parking lot in Springdale or Rogers. The elderly man had a gun concealed in his car under the 'journey' law, and was able to protect himself and his wife, shooting the robber."
Can you get me a reference on that? I tried to google it with the limited info I had and kept coming up blank. Figure TV or paper has an account, but can't find it.
I'm pretty sure that time in meditation or prayer should be spent on one's own relationship with God. Peeking around during prayer and assigning various sins to others in the congregation crosses the like of "judge not" JT should know who the judge will be and I doubt that judge is going to ask him for his score sheet.
It's fine to believe gay sexual relations are a sin (I'm assuming gay celibacy is OK) so don't have them and that's one less sin you will have to deal with. As for your neighbor who is gay.... well God doesn't need your help there.
Try loving your neighbor, they all are sinners. That's the point.
Will Chick-fil-A cater the post graduation reception?
I'm not sure there is anything inherently wrong (maybe poorly thought out) in giving a child a gun.
Leaving an unsecured loaded gun within reach of a 5 year old and 2 year old is neglect and abuse.
But I am sorry for the family's loss.
Re: “Monday night's Pomp and Circumstance open line”
Saline - "I don't favor welfare anyway"
Yeah screw this Communist mentality of "As you have done to the least, so have you done unto me"
When Saline thinks of Christianity he thinks of the big organ, the big building, the huge parking lot, and the glad handing of the folks that look like him and spending another $200,000 for a gym and climbing wall as 'our ministry to our youth.'
The good new for him is that a loving God is likely to take pity on those who totally missed the mesage of "Love your neighbor"
