  • First-hand: 20-week abortion limit is unfair

With Rep. Andy Mayberry's bill to ban abortions in Arkansas from the 20th week of pregnancy onward currently delayed in a Senate committee, there's still time to hear from those who think this legislation has negative consequences for women, in addition to potentially running afoul of federal court precedent.

Re: “Feds move to block arbitration in nursing home contracts; Arkansas heads explode

I was able to stop my family member from signing the mandatory arbitration clause, but it was just lucky that I was there. The nursing home administrator presented it as just one more signature in a big stack of papers and the elderly spouse doing the signing didn't understand the significance until I stopped him and explained it.

Re: “NOT GUILTY: Jury acquits Naramore in son's death

Doigotta, for state jury duty one is called for a period of time - usually 4 months. When I was called it was for 6 months. I served on more than one jury during that time. It was fascinating and boring and highly educational, but nothing like on TV.

Re: “Todays' debate: Catholic High-style problem-solving

As a parent that's my policy. It's not a casual thing to miss work because a kid is forgetful. But I have girls & no ADHD, so perhaps that makes it an easier call.
