  • First-hand: 20-week abortion limit is unfair

With Rep. Andy Mayberry's bill to ban abortions in Arkansas from the 20th week of pregnancy onward currently delayed in a Senate committee, there's still time to hear from those who think this legislation has negative consequences for women, in addition to potentially running afoul of federal court precedent.

Re: “Koch mailer: We know who you are, we know if you vote

It's no lose for AFP. This technique has been shown to increase voting. No one who is mad at AFP is going to refuse to vote because they are offended at the mailer.

Re: “Jason Rapert: The bully strikes again

I have worked with Wes Craiglow and want to reiterate that he is a fine public servant and an important member of the city planning team. Even when we disagree, I know that he is working for the good of the community and is an honest and straightforward person. Once again, shame on you Jason Rapert. And shame on district 35 voters who vote for this bully.

Re: “Mayor begs for people to buy Razorback tickets. It's the long Hog goodbye.

There are enough games at the Capitol without encouraging legislation on a football game. Though perhaps it would distract from a new, worse voter ID law.

Re: “UPDATE: 3-year-old falls into Little Rock Zoo jaguar enclosure; rescued from biting cats by zoo employees

Good for zoo staff. If reports that the child's grandfather placed him on the rail are correct, he should be arrested for child endangerment.

Re: “Meet a victim of the Arkansas voter ID law

I have to vote absentee this year and it is a pain to go out and make a copy of your driver's license if you don't happen to have a copier at home. As I've said on another thread, I give the Faulkner County Clerk's office full marks for making it very clear that doing so was required. And no matter what a pain it was to make a copy of the license, make a trip to the post office to mail the oversize envelope, and pay the postage on the oversize envelope, it's better than being in Arkansas and having to see all the ads.
