Re: “A swing and a miss from Loca Luna

I ate there several times in their first few years. The meals started off great then started sliding. The last couple of times I ate there, I swore never to return. The kitchen was often without key ingredients and made poor substitutions in its place without bothering to inform us. Switching button mushrooms for shitakes is not something that should be done without first clearing it with the customer. There is a huge difference in flavor, texture and price between the two. A salad of spring greens that are wilted and black should never make it out of a kitchen. I understand that this stuff goes south quickly, but seriously? The last time either the waiter of kitchen screwed up the order so badly and then argued with us about the mistake.

I'm pretty easy to please and we did our best to get the order fixed with patience and grace. Y'all go ahead and eat up their stuff. You won't have to wait for me to leave before you get your table.

Re: “Food nostalgia and La Casa Real

This place, and their relatives are my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. I usually order a shrimp dish. I love the fresh pico and the hot green salsas. The warm, oniony salsa is too sweet for me. And yes, the beans are the best , hands down. Even the rice, with little lima beans and other veggies is so much better than the other Mexican places around town.

Re: “The gordita of variable price

The original Life commercial statement was "Let Mikey try it, he hates everything". Followed by "He likes it! He likes it!" If Mikey liked everything, then liking the cereal wouldn't be a big deal, would it?

Re: “Senate passes Missy Irvin’s attack on adults making choices she doesn't like

Could this bill be a backdoor method of outlawing contraceptive devices which are implanted under the skin?

Re: “Denny Altes will be back with Bible bill

Just think of the money we'll save! Bible classes could be used to teach children so much more than mere religious indoctrination. We won't need to teach biology, history, astronomy and earth science anymore. All of the answers are right there in the Good Book.

"It was good enough for Moses, it's good enough for me."
