What most of the people on here fail to understand is that many scout organizations are funded or sponsored by churches. Alot of christian churches believe that homosexual activities are wrong, they do. You can call them bigoted, etc (and it is) however it is what they believe to be the WORD of GOD. Something most bloggers on here do not comprehend. This means GODs word is the law above all others, it also bleeds over into abortion and all sorts of other issues. I am not here to debate religion, but you have to understand where alot of small time churches are coming from. I would be that 100% of all those kids in those scout packs could care less or are even aware of the issue and what it means. I also doubt that there are multitudes of gay kids waiting to be members of the scout pack, seeing as most kids (5-12 is the range here) do not even know they are gay (as most have no concept of sexuality at this age/science). What I am getting at is this is a double edged sword that is going to probably do one of two things: if the gay kids are allowed to be in the scouts, it inevitably will cause many sponsorships to be pulled from the scouts resulting in kids losing their packs. I was a scout and alot of those kids are not always the most social kids around. So you have taken away an after school activity from a group of kids. Or: it will exclude about 2-3% of the population who happens to be gay that may or may not want to be a scout. Either way someone is going to be left out. I believe in the camp that the needs of the few cannot outweigh the needs of the many. That belief doesn't apply to all issues in life, but it does for this one. The scouts are a private group, if they do not want to allow gay people to be in their group, so be it. White people are not allowed to be in the black panthers, the mosaic templars association or at Sims on 33rd street after 5 pm. Just as black people are not allowed at the Little Rock Country Club, high paying jobs at Entergy, or republican fund raising events.

If you have ever eaten an Omaha Steak and then eaten at Sonny W, you know that the two are completely night and day. I think they are certified angus beef steaks. The whole place is top notch in my opinion (and I know steaks). For what you pay, it better be. Only other option that is in the same boat in the downtown area is Riverfront Steakhouse.

I don't think Klowe40 understands that the money isn't coming from the city. It is state funded, meaning it doesn't come out of Ward ___ streets and drainage fund. Think of it as the state saying "Hey we want to make your place more pedestrian friendly, here is $20,000 to do it."

What the fuck does that mean? You have tax dollars (state funded) to improve your neighborhood. Do you really think the elite are coming down to SOMA to hang out? You're fucking delusional if so. Now SOMA will have another option on transportation. It will bring more people to your neighborhood in the form of exercisers and people wanting to check out the neighborhood. Little Rocker is spot on. They probably went around Erma because she is an angry old woman who threw out the race card (they knew what she would do). Screw her and all non progressive politicians.
