Re: “Zack's Place

At Zack’s Place the patrons are known to have a good time drinking, eating, gaming, smoking, dancing & singing. If having a good time is something that appeals to you, you might like it.

Re: “Arkansas congressmen join suit against president

There is spitting on the sidewalk & there is murder, both are illegal.
President Obama has done many worrisome things, not the least of which is the failure to prosecute the previous administration for war crimes. His failure to enact as many executive signing statements as the historic norm is not very high on my list concerns.

Re: “Could you live on the minimum wage?

“While in absolute terms we can never get to zero”

Of course one can get to zero; this is what is referred to as slavery.
If one is truly an advocate of the free market, then abolition of slavery is regarded as government interference.

“Generally speaking, we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money, 'cause they're convinced that there is a free lunch.”

Re: “A serious talk with Hillary Clinton

Republicans continue to run on the failed ideology epitomized by President George W. Bush. Although there may be other candidates better suited than the Democrat’s nominee, voting for them would have the same effect as not voting. I am forced to vote for the lesser of two evils as long as America remains captive to the 2 party system. When asked, I told others I would vote for a ham sandwich over Bush. Since Republicans continue to nominate the failed policies of G.W. I continue to vote for the ham sandwich.

“As soon as you look at the world through an ideology you are finished. No reality fits an ideology. Life is beyond that. … That is why people are always searching for a meaning to life… Meaning is only found when you go beyond meaning. Life only makes sense when you perceive it as mystery and it makes no sense to the conceptualizing mind.”

Re: “Walmart, so far, indicates it won't join Target in refusing gun toters

The Orwellian newspeak of firearms fetishists is belied their bellicose bravado.

From NPR Public Radio:
“Is Open Carry Legal in Arkansas? Depends On Who You Ask.”…

“To suppose arms in the hands of citizens, to be used at individual discretion, except in private self-defense, or by partial orders of towns, countries or districts of a state, is to demolish every constitution, and lay the laws prostrate, so that liberty can be enjoyed by no man; it is a dissolution of the government. The fundamental law of the militia is, that it be created, directed and commanded by the laws, and ever for the support of the laws.”

Re: “The rise of the Southern Democrat?

That subjugating one's principles for expediency is a winning political creed reveals much about the electorate.

“When virtue is lost, benevolence appears, when benevolence is lost right conduct appears, when right conduct is lost, expedience appears. Expediency is the mere shadow of right and truth; it is the beginning of disorder.”

When people claim they do not trust their government,
remember how hard their government worked to betray their trust.
