Bob and Muriel were two of the finest people to ever grace our community. It was with great vigor and courage that he seized the moment when Winrock was gov, saddled up Leon and Ben, and got the deal done on the FOI. In matters of church, community, profession and family, he led with dignity and steadfastness. The world cries for more like him.
Rock on pal... rock on..
NB, I appreciate your acknowledgement of the fact that my older brother did, as of recent, leave the planet. I think in later years he realized that perhaps that piece of legislation might not have been one of his more stellar moves as a young senator, but having 30 years of hindsight certainly does help.
One of the more interesting parts of that story, however, is how that legislation just took on a life of its own after he brought it to committee. He did, of course, at the request of constituents, bring it forward, and once that happened legislators all over the state began to get calls from their districts from folks they never knew existed. All of this happening in the age before the internet. When the furor reached its peak, no legislator or governor could resist the groundswell. Personally opposed, most of them, they had no choice but to vote in favor of it and pass it. It was an interesting time in Arkansas politics.
i always though Asa was an idiot . glad to see that confirmed .
Max. You are a credit to your parents, your profession and this community. May the Spirits be completely present with you as you travel. We wish for you nothing but good memories.
It's a hard row to hoe, I'm telling ya. The kids can make it... but it'll take therapy... lots of it... for years. I'm not sure complete recovery is even possible... just learn to manage.
