Re: “Getting wacky on Wiki with Sen. Jason Rapert

I am continuously astonished at the hypocrisy and gall of this character, to complain of how he is being "libeled" and "disparaged" (when he is merely quoted) while he spends half of each day distorting the facts and character of political rivals, like Judge Griffen, newsmen, such as Max, or any number of his own constituents who have the audacity to confront his grandstanding and suggest that he represent ALL the people of his district. He is so narrow and rigid minded, and so petty and arrogant, that he believes that those who oppose his policies oppose God, that disagreeing with him is a moral and spiritual failure. I would love for someone to ask and get him on record if he thinks Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, or American Baptists (like Judge Griffen) are truly Christian.

Re: “Conway Pride Parade provokes tantrum by Sen. Jason Rapert

If the "honorable" Sen. Rapert had ever actually watched the video he posted or attended this event put on by his own constituents, he'd notice that there are at least two churches that march in the parade. Oh, those "evil" anti-christian churches! Or is it more likely that the right reverend brother Senator Rapert doesn't have an exclusive hold on what Christians do or do not believe, and certainly doesn't speak for the churches, even in Conway(!) that extend a welcome to their LGBT brothers and sisters in Christ and graciously accept the gifts that other congregations would spurn.

Re: “There goes Rapert again on the gays; claims vow from Asa not to protect gays

I don't doubt that A$A gave Rapert such an assurance. I also don't doubt that Rapert isn't politically astute enough to know he wasn't supposed to go blabbing about it on Twitter to the whole world. J-Rape's gone and put the Governor in a corner now. Before, Hutchinson could just do nothing and, if someone asked him about it, he could claim he had higher priorities. But thanks to the twit's tweet, it now appears that the Governor is purposefully doing nothing in order to maintain the status quo (i.e. discrimination), and the Governor will have to spend "political capital" to either defend his tolerance of a policy of discrimination or walk back Rapert's (R-Bigot) statement with some kind of meager action or claim that State Government does not have a policy of discriminating against gay and lesbian employees. Idiot.

Re: “Justin Harris comments on adoption report; Speaker Gillam says issue in past tense. We disagree.

It sickens me that Harris' defense he provided to the DemGaz is to blame the girls he abandoned and stick up for the man who abused them. His constituents and colleagues should demand he resign immediately. If I was a parent with a child attending his day care, I would remove them from that environment post haste.

Re: “Rep. Nate Bell blasts adoption story before seeing it; 'rehoming' bill introduced

I think it's incumbent on Rep. Bell now to introduce legislation outlawing "rehoming" of adopted children. With this exchange, he's clearly tied his own personal integrity, such as it is, to the issue.

Re: “Hobby Lobby ruling cripples child labor law enforcement

Thanks to Hobby Lobby, "deeply held religious belief" will be the American code word for christianist Sharia Law.

Re: “Only Arkansas law makes same-sex couples different

I note, Mr. Pope, that all of your citations are research that is at least 40 to 50 years old. Some of it is even 80 to 90 years old! The overwhelming preponderance of evidence documented in the last half-century contradicts everything that you have cited. But, of course, none of it agrees with your proof-text that homosexuality is a mental disorder.
