I was at Flying Fish on Saturday and got six of the plumpest fried oysters I've ever had, cooked perfectly. And yes, I always "make it snappy" too!
...and if anyone ever wondered why everybody from outside Texas has such a low opinion of the place, look no further.
This may sound like self-promotion, but I don't intend it that way: check out my review of E's Bistro this week. Not because I wrote it, but because E's is doing some of the best food I've had in Central Arkansas. Classy, great service, and a price point cheaper than slophouses like Olive Garden or Outback Steakhouse.
Can't recommend the place highly enough.
Nom noms is good, I'm a fan. I like their Nom Bars better than their ice cream, though.
The Annunciation Church has one of the loveliest sanctuaries I've ever seen.
It's really worth a drive just to eat there. I'm not in that part of town often myself, but I will be more just to eat this food.
I'll try dine-in next time. But if they put a drive-thru in, they better be able to handle it. They'd be the ones "doing it wrong," not us -- especially since I live about 3 minutes away and take-away food is generally still fresh on arrival.
