I've gotten over being outraged every time Griffin or one of his compadres lies. Constant outrage is bad for my blood pressure. However, I'm befuddled trying to make 250 minutes of monthly phone time come out to 20 minutes a day. I'm aware of no months which have 12.5 days.
I know the ice cream at Loblolly is excellent. But you really must try the ice cream at Nom Nom's in Hot Springs. Blackberry cotija with a scoop of blackberry sorbet is my personal favorite, though I can't sneeze at the avocado cream and the rose petal flavors, either.
Other Spa City favorites: Cafe 1217 (wonderful salads, soups, sandwiches, entrees-to-go, sinful desserts). For Mexican, Taco Mama (fish tacos, best salsa in town) and Las Americas (taqueria/market, the carnitas are not to be missed). New in town -- Park Island Market, Cafe and Organics (limited menu, vegan and gluten-free options, small market, really nice food). King Kone -- wonderful soft-serve ice cream. Nom Noms, as mentioned above. Central Park Fusion, as mentioned above (the diver scallops are to die for). Cheese Corner (good deli sandwiches).
Second the recommendation for the Pie Shop in DeValls Bluff on the Memphis-LR run. Craig's is....OK. I know, that's heresy. If you want to avoid the construction and truck traffic, take 67 up to Bald Knob and then 64 over to Marion, where you're 10 miles from Memphis. Much easier ride, and you can hit the culinary trifecta in Bald Knob. Go to Who Dat's for lunch. Eat anything. It doesn't matter. It's all wonderful. Go to the Bulldog Cafe for strawberry shortcake while local berries are in season. There is no better in the civilized world. Period. At all. (The smoked chicken sandwich ain't no slouch, either.) Then wind up the hat trick with a stop at Big Bayou Market to pick up a few pounds of fresh shrimp, oysters, & etc., and do NOT come out without a big jar of the WhoDat's (same proprietors). Cajun spice. Re: the shrimp -- I bought jumbos there for $14.95 a pound last week. Other bayou-based goodies as well.
I fly a fair amount, and I hate flight delays as much as anyone, particularly since flying anywhere other than a major airport from LIT means at least one layover and connection. But to fix the air traffic control issue in record time so freaking Congress can fly home for spring recess, while leaving important social issues like HeadStart and SNAP and aid to the elderly untouched, is the absolute max in hubris, selfishness, callousness, sheer loathesomeness (and if that's not a word it ought to be). I will do everything in my power to see that no Senator or Representative who voted for this reprehensible policy ever sees an elected official's paycheck again after his or her next election.
Add Superior Bathhouse Brewery and Distillery, on Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs, to the great beer list, effective this summer!

Re: “Tim Griffin's dishonest campaign against Lifeline phone service”
Obviously my failing eyes read it wrong. I read 20 minutes, for some reason. Republicans probably sabotaged my version of the blog.
