Re: “Digital membership FAQ

Please proceed with consideration of a bundle for print subscribers. Out here in the hitherlands a Sunday only delivery of the Dem-Gaz includes free access to the online version. There should be some break for AT print subsribers. AT may be breaking even on print subscribers but we pay a price for holding it in our hands several days after publication. Sweeten the deal so us country folks won't feel razzle dazzled.

Re: “Mark Darr: "looks like they've done a good job" on Mayflower cleanup

Someone needs to check the Farmer's Almanac because I believe if Lt. Gov. Darr comes out of his hole and see his shadow in June that means we are going to have 6 months of summer this year. He needs to get back to the capitol and be ready to break a tie vote.

Re: “A detour in De Valls Bluff

Stopped in the Pie Shop late on a Saturday afternoon. It looked like Ms. Mary had just finished studying her Sunday school lesson and was about to close for the day. She had a chocolate pie left and I ordered a single piece. She didn't seem to be happy that I was ordering a single piece. One bite of that warm delicacy was all it took to convince me that I needed to change the order. Rolled out of De Valls Bluff with the rest of the pie in a box. You could probably bribe a public official with a pie box filled with one of her warm chocolate pies.

Re: “UPDATE: Nate Bell shoots from lip on Boston violence; Speaker Carter apologizes for him; Bell apologizes for 'timing'

Rep. Bell reminds us of the constitutional right to stick your foot in your mouth and to then shoot yourself in the foot.

Re: “Rep. Jon Hubbard still on warpath with UA

The good news is Hubbard is the person proposing the audit. Hubbard's batting average at the legislature is a stunning .000.

The residents of house district 75 should bring an illegal exaction lawsuit as we have suffered through Hubbard's term without representation. Taxation without representation sums up the Hubbard term.

Re: “Burger joint of the week: Black Angus

I was a UALR undergrad and law student in the late 70's and early 80's. Enjoyed many Black Angus burgers at the Fairpark/Markham location. Tasty burgers and the price was right for a student's budget. Balanced those Black Angus burgers with a healthy (in one sense) dose of burgers from the counter at Town and Country Drug Store. Good memories of both places.

Re: “UALR chancellor urges DREAM Act

Glad to hear that Chancellor Anderson has taken this step to initiate the public discussion in Arkansas about the Dream Act. Many undocumented students have completed their education and many more will continue their education only to hit a brick wall once they graduate. The options are to pass the Dream Act to allow these students the opportunity to become productive tax paying citizens or to continue to force them to work under the table. Of course the other option is to deport young people brought to the U.S. by their parents. Arkansas was once known as the land of opportunity and Chancellor Anderson reminds us that we still can fulfill that motto.
