WTF is going on in LR and robbings? Last week it was Red Lobster, now the mall - with a fatality?
Oh, let me add, I am a 40 yo woman, that already has one child that has congenital birth defects. If I were to pursue another, it would be too late to abort based on the laws that are now being passed. I'm not saying it would be an easy choice, but it is immoral to put anyone in the decision I'd be faced with if I were pregnant again. F* it, I'll just never have intimate relations again. Thank you Arkansas!
I love my state, it is so beautiful. But I cannot get over the 'landscape' of the people. I'm still new'ish here. I've only been in Arkansas for about 13 years. But these debates about abortion and what-not astounds me. Rape, Incest, does it MF matter? Why is it even on the books? I'm just barely reading into all of the comments now, but I like a good debate :) And just so I'm straight, the belief in a God is a personal decision.
All right, it looks like I'm going to start the comments this week! Can't share anything really stellar, but did try out the new Downtown Market and Deli's Hunt Brothers pizza and I gotta say, not bad! It was better than I was expecting for essentially gas station food. Their supreme includes banana peppers and added a real nice tang. I didn't get to personally go to the market to give anymore details (it was brought to work from a coworker), but I'm curious how much deli is in their deli, as in, do they make sammiches. Anybody else in the downtown area have a chance to try this place out?
Also, I've had a love/hate affair with New Fun Ree since I moved to Little Rock and they were on Kavanaugh (that is the same folks, isn't it?). When they were there, it was hate, now I'm finding the love. This week I tried out the Singapore Chow Me Fun and Bean Curd and Vegetable soup and was blown away. I think I'm going to have to order some more of the non-standard chinese fare to really get what I'm wanting out of them.
I haven't been to Taj Mahal yet. Once again, not convenient to work. BUT I was able to get out to WLR from downtown, eat 3 heaping plates at Star of India, then make it back in an hour, so maybe Taj Mahal is a possibility too.
Just finished up with a tasty lunch at Star of India. Haven't been there in years as it's not convenient to where I work now, and unfortunately my hub hates Indian food. It is just as good as ever! They added a couple of new dishes to the buffet or possibly just switched out some of the what used to be regular. There was a thick, rich, and tomatoey dish I don't recall seeing before called Chicken 65 that was very tasty. They also had some tasty little vegetable sandwiches.
Tried out the Taste of India in NLR recently (I'm on an Indian kick), and while I was pleased, it still doesn't measure up to Star of India.
And no romantic dinner here. Valentine's is the WORST day to go out to eat. We're waiting to go to the Wildwood Lantern festival next weekend for our Valentine's night.
Re: “Greek week continues: Little Greek Restaurant UPDATE”
How is this going to affect Istanbul, just 4 doors down? I'm really not all that worried as I've found their offerings to be overpriced and - eh, but it seems fairly concentrated greek/mediterranean offerings for that shopping center. I'm not complaining, just wondering.
And while I feel sad for the family that opened Cheeburger Cheeburger to see it fail, I'm glad it is gone. Outside of their shakes (especially when I was pregnant), the food abhorred me and the service was deplorable. And I was a fan of one of the outlets back in Auburn, AL when in college, this was one was no where near that good.
