Steven-- Please tell us you don't REALLY believe that Bob Lancaster, or anyone else who disagrees with you "wants more victims" and "hopes for" a "juicy mass killing" just to say that "nothing is being done." That's taking it WAAAAY too far.

I'm a gun owner with a concealed carry permit and I agree with many of the practical points Cimarron makes about the responsibility of the entertainment, game and media for glamorizing violence. I also agree about the virtual impossibility of putting the toothpaste back in the tube, gun-wise. BUT... once, just once, I'd like the paragons of constitutional justice at the NRA to 1. Express their condolences to the victim's families instead of knee-jerking to a defensive position. And 2. Help America try deal with the issue. It's technically true that guns don't kill people, people kill people--- but the NRA is made up of PEOPLE, right? So why not become part of the solution and not part of the problem?
And let's drop this crap about "let's outlaw cars because they kill people, too." The purpose of cars is to get from A to B. The purpose of some kinds of guns is for the military or police to kill somebody. At least let's make THOSE much more difficult to get. You won't be stepping on anyone's rights anymore than when you don't allow people from driving tanks on the street.
Finally, if our so called leadership refuses to act because they only do what they are are bought and paid to do, how about starting a well funded lobby of reasonable gun owners that can outspend the NRA?

So in addition to his $3.2 million salary, he will make more for just for an APPEARANCE in a SEMIFINAL playoff game than four grade school teachers, or four policemen, or four firemen make IN A YEAR. Yeah, that seems about right.
