In reading the comments it's obvious most people have not read the police report. Most are probably the same people who sided with the police against Louis Gates @ Harvard. Now they are bashing the police, I wonder why? Being an ex law enforcement person, thanks for the disorderly conduct law. Ever wonder why disorderly conduct has being uphelded. Even if you feel the arrest is unjust one cannot resist.
I know Chancellor Davis can come with a bettter explanation. If not he should be replaced.
How did Stodola ever get elected, and convince the citizens the job should be full time. Let's see, a city manager, asst. city manager and a full time mayor.
Lt. Hastings is very poor spokeman for the LRPD. He needs to hit the streets for a reality check. Everyone describe Chief Thomas as a good guy. It does not appear that way to me, There is nothing innovative about his leadership. Status quo at best. How long is the Corbin investigation going to sit on his desk?
Why is the LRPD wasting our time and money on this issue. Hand over the records. Before the tax increase they were complaining about money to upgrade manpower and equipment. But, they have money to fight this issue.
What is the LRPD and the city trying to hide?
Re: “Greenberg: You can't be arrested for 'disrespect of cop'”
They treated Joe Thompson like he was black. I wish those of you blogging would have been this upset when Mr. Ellison was killed or drank the Kool-aid of the police version of the Park Plaza shooting. Chief Thomas has presided over much of this circus of investigations; Asst. Chief Carlos Corbin's accident with a city vehicle, Lt. David Hudson, and let's not forget the way they handled Lt. Terry Hasting son's questionable association with a right wing group. By the way, how many Hastings are employed by the LRPD. Like President Davis of UAPB, Chief Thomas has over stayed his tenure. One of the previous comments mentioned his long associate with the LRPD, from Patrolman to Chief, maybe that's the problem. He's to close to the local police culture to be tranparent or objective.
