Re: “KKK billboard erected in Russellville; mayor speaks out

There's an Arkansas filmmaker challenging the Robert E. Lee Day holiday, which occurs on MLK Day. Check out his crowdfunding effort and video. It made my jaw drop. www.gofundme.com/notoleeday

Re: “The curious case of Rolf Kaestel: 33 years in prison and counting

Max, why don't have you the Times do a follow up on this SLC piece pressing the powers that be in Arkansas on this issue? After all, it appears that no matter how shocked people in Utah might be with this story it's still Arkansas that holds all the cards. And the state wants to build more prisons at hundreds of millions of dollars at the tax payers expense!

Re: “The curious case of Rolf Kaestel: 33 years in prison and counting

Why don't you link this story with Mara's Ark Times story about the former prosecutor in Kaestel's case? Seems that after he buried Keastel - he's been defending himself against corruption, drug trafficking and rape charges. Southern justice??

Actually, the Sr. Bob's Taco Hut toy gun robbery occurred in 1981 --making it 34 years ago (not 31).

Re: “UPDATE Oxford American's Warwick Sabin to lead Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub

While I know Marc Smirnoff and fully appreciated what he accomplished with creating and editing the OA, and was sad to see him leave, especially in such a controversial way, I have to disagree with his assessment of Warwick Sabin, the outgoing publisher.

Marc's characterization of Sabin falls short in my view and comes across sounding more vindictive than anything else....

To my knowledge, Sabin stayed out of Smirnoff's way when they worked together at the magazine - in other words, letting him have editorial control. And Warwick has always come across as sincere in his efforts to keep the magazine afloat, relevant, and expansive in its content and readership.

Re: “Oxford American, Chapter Umpteen

I heard that a criminal investigation is being asked for.... Any verification of that?
