Matt can teach you how to be two-faced without appearing so.... Of course, you've got to ask yourself if that's a real skill.
When you can't afford to run sometjing already you don't keep trying to make it bigger. The festival was always struggling so then WHY expand it to a week??? This ain't Sundance we're talking about here folks. And then losing its non-profit status and saying that's no big deal? WTF. My understanding is that the Fest almost lost it's nonprofit status before BECAUSE it didn't file on time for three years - just barely making the deadline. So, there's no money left, sponsors aren't excited anymore, management is lacking, they lose their director who never got paid, they lose their 501 c3 status and the theatre BUT none of that had anything to do with the collapse of the LRFF??? Oh. It was the "huge" success of the Renauds that killed the fest. Yeah, right. They Should Be EMBARASED.
There's an Arkansas filmmaker challenging the Robert E. Lee Day holiday, which occurs on MLK Day. Check out his crowdfunding effort and video. It made my jaw drop. www.gofundme.com/notoleeday

Max, why don't have you the Times do a follow up on this SLC piece pressing the powers that be in Arkansas on this issue? After all, it appears that no matter how shocked people in Utah might be with this story it's still Arkansas that holds all the cards. And the state wants to build more prisons at hundreds of millions of dollars at the tax payers expense!
