Re: “Foster family disputes key statements from Justin Harris

Cannot comment on this case as I do not have all of the facts.
I can however comment on my experience with DHS.

Many years ago we decided to add a daughter to our family.
We were advised to become foster parents, which we did.

DHS asked us to take two girls, one in her mid-teens, the other was pre-teen.
The older daughter was very difficult, when we refused to let her do as she wanted she made accusations we were abusive.

DHS checked our three sons out of school, gave them exams and questioned them.
We learned of this from our children later that day.

We called DHS, told them to come get the girls and we left the program.
Instead of DHS contacting us to advise of the accusations and moving forward with the investigation and the complete history they assumed we were guilty, thank goodness the teen did not attempt to claim any type of sexual misconduct!

I did learn several lessons from this incident, one of which was to never be left alone with a young child, especially a female.
Evidently children can make accusations to DHS that are taken as truth without proof.

As I said, my knowledge of the incident published in this article is insufficient to make any kind of informed comment.
However, as my experience with DHS was similar to the Harris family my tendency is to believe their account of DHS treatment.

Re: “Bicyclists call for safer streets in Little Rock

Jeremy- thanks for the link, seems like a good idea.
Of course it will take money, I suggest L.R. earmark city funds from the Chamber of Commerce to buildning protected two way bike lanes.

Re: “Bicyclists call for safer streets in Little Rock

Ok- please stop thinking one dimensionally, when I said take the motorcycle test many are asking how is a bicycle the same as a motorcycle.
If you were reading all of my post(s) you should be able to see the progression of my subject.

My comment about bike riders acting like they own the road can and has led to accidents.
When learning to ride a motorcycle safety is paramount, for some reason car drivers fail to see them all to often.

When you have a two ton beast coming straight at you it can only end in disaster.
I will not explain further as the bicycle riders need to think this out on their own.

Instead of firing off a rebuttal maybe someone will be serious and do some research.
If that saves one injury/life this thread will have served a purpose besides the bickering back and forth.

FYI- my post referenced a special test/license for bicycle riders, a class D endorsement will not suffice.
The motorcycle test addresses many of the special circumstances bicycle riders face.

Re: “Bielema to get $3.2 million to coach Hogs

At 3.2 mill he can afford to stop eating boogers and move up to tiger meat.
I hope he can adjust to the SEC and hire assistants that can recruit in Texas, etc.
Otherwise look foward to Gus beating us like a rug year end, year out.
