Re: “The Kochs want Scott Walker as 2016 GOP nominee

Personally, I find Walker repugnant.
However, I think it is a mistake to write him off. He survived a recall election despite the organized effort to unseat him. His lack of a college education may actually play in his favor with many, who see him and think, "he's kinda like me, not one of those educated elites." And his anti-union stance, couched as so-called "right to work," probably is not a hindrance in a country where unions play an increasingly less significant role.
It's easy to laugh him off. People thought W was a joke.
The election will not be decided by Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow viewers (of which I am one). Or by those who prefer Sean Hannity (not guilty). It will be decided by the 10% or so in the political middle; all Walker has to do is not appear as crazy as Cruz, as stupid as Perry, or as boring as Jeb to grab a good bit of that middle.
So sleep well, fellow libs.

Re: “The midweek open line

BHR appears to be breaking news of note related to the LRSD, accusing Suggs of plagiarism in his thesis... and providing examples.

This could get interesting.

Re: “Compromise 'religion' bill becomes law; session ends

I know some people think we should thank the governor and senate for changing HB 1228.

I'm sorry (really I'm not). The governor and senate knew what this bill was about. It was about THE GAYS. That's ALL it was about. And all the "Christians" going on TV/radio/telegraph/holy smoke signals saying otherwise are lying. They are lying. And that's not only a sin, it's one of the Top Ten. Not some sin like eating shellfish (guilty) or having tattoos (guilty) or eating pizza with cheese AND meat (guilty) or eating some McClard's ribs (guilty and hungry). Lying made the stone tablets Moses brought down from Mount Sinai. (Maybe those sins were on the other tablets he dropped on the way down, but we'll never know, will we?)

So Asa Hutchinson is a liar. Bob Ballinger is a liar. Jerry Cox is a liar. Bart Hester is a liar. Jason Rapert is a liar (and a preacher). And they're just hateful. And that's probably a sin, as well.

I refuse to thank people for trying to do a bad thing, getting caught, lying about it, then doing the right thing. That's not leadership. That's what little kids do. And for "Christians" to do it, and during their holiest week of the year, and with straight faces, is beyond the pale.
Look inward, Christians.

Wonder why church attendance is down?
Wonder why kids, and an increasing number of adults, have totally written off religion as important in their lives?
Wonder why the church, which Jesus set up as a revolutionary force for good, is no longer seen that way?
Look at your leaders and yourself.

To the liars trying to push hateful legislation, as for me and my house, I say be gone from me. I never knew you.

Re: “The Wednesday open line and a showdown over HB 1228

Ah, well, eL, that was less an AF bit than a make fun of Ted Cruz bit. I'm sure you will be back and sharpened tomorrow.

Re: “The Wednesday open line and a showdown over HB 1228

The more you know...
“I masturbate to the Bible every night,” he told the audience, “That’s how much I love God. And that’s how much I love America. And as an American, I’m not afraid to say it.”

Re: “HB 1228 "fix" approved by full Senate

If Cox is pissed, they are on the right track.

Re: “Hutchinson asks for HB 1228 to be changed

The link for that ADG poll was going around twitter and FB all day. And you did not need to have a digital (or delivery) account to take the poll. I voted and I don't subscribe to the teabag rag.
So I doubt it was just old folks/subscribers.
