Re: “Judge refuses to dismiss suit challenging new 12-week abortion limit

Folks, if someone's primary news source is their own nut hatch web site, ya just gotta expect em to believe anything.
Because they are stupid.

Re: “TGIF line is open

Re the end of True Blood.
As a dad, I read most of the Harry Potter books and saw all the movies (multiple times) with RAV Jr. We reveled in them but somehow survived the end of the series.
We also enjoyed the Twilight Series, though I must say I endured it at times because of the all too realistic teenage angst. But, as as a horror fan who grew up on Elvira, I'll watch almost anything with vampires and werewolves. And again, we survived the end of the series. As a matter of fact, the final movie was pretty dang good.
But I will say this. If George RR Martin doesn't get off his ass and finish the Game of Thrones series so I can finish reading it, and HBO can finish its great TV series, I will hunt that man down to whatever boggy town he lives in and beat him with the cane I use when my knee is acting up. Or give him a good talking to at least.

Re: “TGIF line is open

As an Army officer, I bit my tongue bloody frequently during eight years of Bush 43. But I knew my duty as an officer and carried it out in silence, and most of my fellow officers, and none of my enlisted Soldiers, knew of my political leanings. And as more and more of my fellow Soldiers died in Iraq, that got harder and harder. And when I knew those names, it was really hard. After the funerals, it was damn near impossible. But I did it.
It's fun to see a Marine jab at the President and run to his defense and scream "free speech." But if you think Soldiers have totally free speech you're wrong. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice they are restricted to a certain degree. And they should be, given that they work for the President and are sworn to obey his/her orders. Those Soldiers who go beyond the bounds of the UCMJ are subject to, and should, face punishment, regardless of who is in the Oval Office. To fail to do so undermines discipline and the chain of command.
Once I retired, of course, I had no such restrictions, and enjoyed going on post with my Obama '08 bumper sticker. Not to mention campaigning for him. Though not with my old comrades in arms.

Re: “The open line

Shooter, your eloquent contributions here will be missed as much as Sleen's will be when he leaves and takes his Milton Friedman fantasies with him. And his FRC screeds.
So goodbye, buddy. Stick with the paid crazies on the Dem Gazz op ed page. Although beware of that John Brummett guy. He be talking crazy.

Re: “Arkansas Republicans hate on Nancy Pelosi, in LR today

Oh Joe, if you sit too close to the computer while drinking kool aid and watching Glenn Beck or Alex Jones rants, your tin foil hat will create negative waves of ions that impair cognitive function.
Now, I know I've used some big words there. So drive on down to the library and someone will help you out.
Bless your heart.

Re: “Snow in forecast for Arkansas

Cry havoc, and let slip the deniers of climate change!
I'm sure those of the AR GOP Leg with two opposable thumbs and twitter feeds will be all atwitter with witty tweets. And again make Arkies look like the dumbass redneck hicks the rest of the country thinks we are.
Thank God for Mississippi? Not so much anymore.

Re: “Arkansas Republicans hate on Nancy Pelosi, in LR today

Amy: you go girl!
All the Nancy bashing. What a joke by the RWNJs. When she was SotH she got stuff passed and it was signed into law.
What has Boner done? Tried to repeal the ACA what, 39 or 40 times? And cried a few dozen. Had a few revolts by the tea baggers in his midst when he tried to do deals. What a loser.
I'll take Nancy any day. What a role model.
People hate Nancy because she's a smart liberal woman. That scares the hell out of people who are used to telling the women folk what to do, when to do it and where to do it.
But President Hillary's gonna make a big difference there, you gotta believe.
Keep hope alive, Dems, Libs, Progressives!
