Now that HDM isn't mobile, it's time to increase the quality quotient. Grilled dogs, not boiled, please. That alone would make a huge difference. That said, Mike is a great guy and he's an institution around here - let's give him some time to adjust to the new scheme and keep supporting what he does in our community.
decor?? or decorum?
@slow yeti, I felt the same after recent trips to Seattle and other northern metropolises. I would love to read about Portland's latest - hoping to go there again some months from now.
Back in our local dining scene. At my last visit to Natchez (it's been a few months but I have not had a bad meal there), they had homemade Butterfinger for dessert. It was a rich and delicious rendering of its namesake candy made with much finer ingredients. I will have to see if South on Main is serving their version when I finally get around to going - it would be fun to compare.
I'm still recovering from the disappointment that it's not a David Lynch-themed restaurant.
I propose that Mr. Carlyle and other trolls be required to stay indoors and out of respectable publications. He and his ilk are entirely self-absorbed and a plague to the peaceful coexistence of motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Just don't go for food at church time Sundays. If you do, the door may be open, but you could be disappointed to find (as I was) that they are not serving the general public. If you do make that mistake, however, the Argenta Market next door has brunch that is more than satisfactory.
Bring on the straw men!
