yes, Verla, there's a great solution: fund institutions of higher learning at the legislatively recommended levels. Pulaski Tech is presently funded at approximately 50% of its needs **as defined by the legislature.** I'll repeat that for emphasis. According to the Arkansas General Assembly's own assessment of the college's financial needs, Pulaski Technical College gets HALF of the money it should.
Yep, Juanita's needs work. The Galactic show was great- kudos for that. But after arriving at 8 pm and paying 50 bucks for tickets ($6 more than I would have paid on Friday if they had accepted my money) I was informed that the bar serves no food and the restaurant is closed on Sundays. We went elsewhere for a bite. Again, bad business. I'm not impressed.
Juanita's turned me away today. I made a special trip downtown to buy tickets, cash in hand. "come back when the restaurant is open" said the bar employee in the bar where the bar bands play. Bad business.
The tallest peak in Colorado, Mnt. Elbert @ 14,440 feet, can be climbed in a day. It ain't easy, but it's not a supr-human feat. The second tallest peak, Mnt Massive, is aptly named. It takes a very long hike to even start the ascent.
I don't find it that hard to believe that Ryan might have climbed that many peaks. What I fiind hard to beleive is that we (I include myself) care about his recreational activities while this stuffed-suit sociopath wants to loot the treasury and bugger the country.
Wow. I've supported, attended and volunteered at Riverfest for years. Unless there is an about-face on this issue by tomorrow, I have spent my last dime with them. Tickets are bought and I'm taking the kids tomorrow, but we will eat elsewhere. For shame.
Lordy. I just spent now-irretrievable five minutes of my life reading that. It's very convincing. Hat's off, Anvil. You did your homework and the evidence is clear.
More clear is the utter lack of relevance this has to anything remotely related to my regularly scheduled life. The one I checked out of to ponder Naval sun charts. Y'all carry on without me, please.
Re: “Lawsuit planned over hog farm in Buffalo River watershed”
The distance to the Buffalo and tributaries isn't necessarily measured in surface miles. Hydrology in karst formations (like the Ozarks) makes moving water -and waste- much faster, farther, easier.
