Quid, that statement was unfair to the developmentally disabled, most of whom I've know to be genuinely kind human beings who are playing the game of Life in 'hard mode'.
Let's call it what it really is, The Big Lie as pefected by Joseph Goebbels. It is willful duplicity of the most craven kind, done for the aggrandisement of his Masters, in return for a penny or two on each dollar he enabled for them at our expense.
I see someone disliked my statement, yet didn't care to post why. Come on, you yellow, gutless coward, what was wrong with it??!!
How fucking cruel can someone be?
It took an elderly helpless woman 24 hours to die by some sort of abdominal/intestinal rupture while her "caretakers" did nothing. I can't imagine a more excruciating way to die. Even if she were fated to die, an effort should have been made to ease her suffering. Not one nurse or attendant caretaker gave a damn.
ALL who were nvolved should be stripped of all their assets, their professional licenses/certifications revoked, and be sent to prison. This 'home' needs to be shut down and CANC/Morton needs to have massive penalties assessed as a deterrence measure.

If you'll pay my gas there and back, plus hotels and food I'll give your statement a chance & documemt it on video, Steve. I've driven in California and Nevada and a whole bunch of other states. I've been right in that Dallas interchange at rush hour where I-30 hits I-45 and I-35E after crossing Lake Hubbard when there was contruction and lane closures and drivinig a car with a stick shift. L.A. was no worse than that. They drive just as badly here as they did there. Maybe it's changed at lot since I was in California 15 years ago visiting family, but I doubt it. People were angry and asses back then, too. I'm cautious and drive defensively. I don't stare malevolently at the face of drivers who cut me off, I just watch their car and let them go on their way and stay aware of the road around me.
Steve, your post make you sound like the kind of in-a-hurry-angry guy who stares and gestures and screams a lot at other drivers, so quit projecting yourself onto me. Try to be Zen on the road - you'll be happier and your blood pressure will decrease to spitting range of normal.
Re: “Will Tom Cotton help Oklahoma or hold it hostage to ideology?”
Some thoughts:
A 2011 analysis by the Center for Public Integrity found that Texas and Oklahoma "combined for more than a quarter of FEMA's declared disasters since Jan. 1, 2009." http://ualrpublicradio.org/post/oklahomas-gop-senators-find-themselves-tornado-aid-bind
Why are these states so rabidly anti-FEMA when they are the largest recipient of OUR largess? They should be pulling themselves back up with their bootstraps. Hypocrites - they should decline all aid and then explain to their constituency why they did so.
What do you do with a dog that bites the hand that feeds him?
"Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me" is what these (R)ed state hearts full of hate should be keeping in mind. One thinks they're going to have a Hell of a time getting through that needle on their camel.
