Re: “Garret Sorensen plea bargains in USA Drug fraud case

@ac360 I assume you know the Sorensens and their children? I assume you saw this Evidence. Evidence. Evidence. you speak of? I've kept up with the case and lots of things just don't add up, especially from a numbers standpoint. I do agree with you on one point, I am certain he did plea to keep his wife out of jail. But I doubt it was due to his defense attorneys seeing the mountains of evidence the day he took the plea. His attorneys would have seen the evidence LONG before the day trial was to begin. There is a process called discovery. It happens in every case. It's where the evidence is traded between the parties LONG before a trial is to start. Try to use some common sense or at least do a little research, before you continue to post. You just make yourself sound dumb.

In my humble opinion, taking a plea to protect his family just makes him a stand up guy. And who wouldn't make that choice with the possibility of people like ac360 and Dogtowndiva being on the jury. Are you perhaps one of the USA Drug owners, their friend, or a USA Drug employee? I think I smell a RAT. With a friend like Garret had at USA who needs enemies? Best be careful if you are a college buddy of the owner's son, he has successfully put two of his ole college buddies in federal prison in the last few years.

And please ask yourself this question; why did the LaFRances file a civil case against Garret Sorensen and then do everything in their power to try to block depositions and written discovery? I personally would like to know what they are hiding. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and smells like a duck then my guess is....it's probably a DUCK! Thank goodness for two honest judges, one at the state and one at the federal level who held the LaFrances and their attorneys accountable and forced them to submit to the discovery process they started when they filed their civil suit.

Nobody I know will ever purchase from any of the LaFrance companies ever again. At least one thing rings true to this story, the LaFrances have friends in HIGH places. Arkansas politics at its best. Lots can be learned from this case. Best not mess with those folks unless you look really good in an orange jumpsuit. Once again, MONEY TALKS and ARKANSAS POLITICS is at work. Did you ever ask yourself why it took two years from the time Garret Sorensen was let go from USA Drugs in 2007 for him to be indicted in 2009?

Re: “Garret Sorensen plea bargains in USA Drug fraud case

@ac360 No I am not a Sorensen family member and actually have never met the Sorensen family. I am however someone who has been accused of something I didn't do and I understand how the system works. I also understand how someone might get scared and plea to a lesser charge out of fear. Mainly the fear that people like YOU might be on the jury! Such closed minded people who have no idea about the case, have not looked at the evidence, and I assume DID NOT witness the Sorensen family doing any of the acts described in the indictment. Please do your research. You sound dumb. It's common fact that an indictment is very easy to get and I would assume because of people like you who sit on the grand jury. An indictment does not mean it's true. A plea agreement does not mean that the person thinks they are guilty of what they are agreeing to plea to in court. It means someone took a choice that was the lesser risk than going before a jury. And I wonder why? I would hate to have most of the posters on this site on a jury that had to decide my fate. Get off your high horses. From what i have seen most anything we do could be made into a crime should the government choose to take it to the grand jury. Open your eyes. Open your minds. Stop judging others for what you do not know for a fact or did not see happen with your own eyes. What if this were you or your family? I hope none of you ever have to face anything like this. Believe me I have and it's nothing I would wish on any of you!

Re: “State Surgeon General Joe Thompson arrested

I think the appropriate answer here is Stephens, Inc. They think they run Arkansas, not just Little Rock. Oh but wait until the dominos start to tumble! All Glass houses evidentually fall.

Re: “Garret Sorensen plea bargains in USA Drug fraud case

@Dogtowndiva-For your information they did NOT change thri minds suddenly a WEEK BEFORE trial. He took the plea the morning the trial was about to start. You are a REAL rocket scientist aren't you? Can you say "read much and comprehend what you read"?It's obvious by your posts that you know NOTHING about this case so you are best to just shut your mouth until you do. Judge NOT least YOU be judged!

Re: “Garret Sorensen plea bargains in USA Drug fraud case

@Dogtowndiva: Judge NOT least YOU be judged. You have NO idea what these people have or have not done. People like you make me see RED. Unless you have ever been accused of something you didn't do then you can't even begin to imagine what they have been through. Just because someone makes a decision to plead to something does not mean that is actually what happened. It's people like YOU that make up juries and that is what scares me about this country. What ever happened innocent until PROVEN guilty? I don't think taking a plea is what our founding forefathers meant. Sometimes people make choices at moments in their life that seem like the lesser of two evils. Sometimes people run out of fight, money, or just decide not to take a chance that someone like YOU might end up on their jury! Why don't you try to go and read ALL the court documents, the expert witness report, and other motions available on line in the civil and criminal case BEFORE you respond with your JUDGEMENT. I assume since you are so quick to judge that you live in a pristine GLASS house of your own, right? I assume that you know everything there is to know about this case and are able to make the assumption that these people did this and felt entitled, right? I don't even know these people but I know enough about the world we live in to know that there are ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY. God help you Dogtowndiva and your judgment. I hope YOU or ANY of YOUR family EVER find themselves accused of something you did not do. I hope if you do that people give you the benefit of the doubt that it's obvious you are unable to do for others. It's people like you who are the reason I don't attend church any longer. Now you go bash me all you want because I DON'T CARE. Shame on you!

Re: “Garret Sorensen plea bargains in USA Drug fraud case

I personally do not believe we know all the story. Sometimes people plead to things that they don't think they are guilty for because it's a better deal than putting their fate in the hands of 12 people who may or may not understand their case. Unless you have been sitting where he and his family sat, you can never know or understand how that feels. Maybe he just wanted to protect his wife and by him taking the fall he was able to accomplish that. I have personally followed this case and read everything there is to read in the court filings. I am personally not convienced that he committed the crimes he plead to and will be sentenced for on Sept 7th. I think there is more to the story than meets the eye. I personally think USA Drug lied and then covered their own "ass"ets. I will never darken the doors of any of their stores again and neither will any of my family or friends. People need to remember that there is always two sides to every story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Don't judge least you be judged. Unless you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes you do not know. I pray for him and his family to get some closure.
