Eurkea Springs,
I have been following the blog for a bit now, and I have to ask you something. Do you ever actually *do* anything to fight against the system you're always railing against? Don't get me wrong. I get a lot of what you're saying. Both parties are indeed infiltrated with neoliberal corporatists. But do you actually do anything about it? Because if you don't, you are in no position to demean the efforts of those of us who do.
I've been an activist for years. I have marched and canvassed in all kinds of weather, and I slept out in a parking lot last winter in sub-freezing temperatures with Occupy Little Rock. I have held meetings police tried to break up because of what we were saying at those meetings. I have carried on with my activism in the face of opposition that would send a lot of people packing. I have not been scared away by police, undercover government agents, or DHS black vans. I could go on with more, but I think you get my point.
Most recently (last weekend), I almost got heat stroke canvassing with Regnat Populus and was lucky not to wind up hospitalized.
If you're so much smarter than us, show us how it's done. And I don't mean simply ceaselessly pointing out our faults on the AT blog. Form an organization, recruit volunteers, raise money, and *do* something to show us how we're all doing it wrong. If you have better ideas, give us a means to help you carry them out. Put your efforts where your mouth is.
If you're not willing to do that, then respect for those of us who are actually willing to make a stand, even though we may all be idiots in your omniscient eyes.
If you have a better idea, start organizing. Otherwise, cut out your self-righteous pontificating. You're not helping anyone.
Put up or shut up.
Starve'em.

I couldn't agree w/ you more! Like I said, stay tuned. And when the candidates step up, get out and support them. Blog comments don't vote!
Candidates to run against the Chamber's shills are being recruited. An electoral revolt is brewing. Stay tuned.
Little Rocker:
I see. I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out.
Full Throttle:
The AT did not support the portion of the tax (which was a separate issue to vote on) meant to fund the Tech Park. I remember reading Max's editorials against it.
Re: “Regnat Populus plans lawsuit over petition restrictions”
I take great exception to being called a sellout. I am a member of Regnat Populus, and I went all over the state last summer to help get this on the ballot. I nearly got heat stroke canvassing in Malvern back in early July, and it was literally almost the end of me.
I have to say, I get annoyed with folks on this blog sometimes. Whether I'm literally sweating to death for RP, freezing in a tent in January at Occupy Little Rock's campsite, or giving my Saturdays organizing people south of I-630 to fight the tech park board and keep them from leveling entire neighborhoods, I am always about *doing*. And I do all this while working and going to professional school.
Meanwhile, I come on this blog and see a bunch of professional complainers who piss and moan very loudly about the efforts of others (again, for emphasis, that's EFFORTS OF OTHERS) while doing very little if anything to help themselves.
If you don't like the way things are done, get off your cantankerous ass and do *get involved*. Otherwise, don't be so quick to criticize the considerable efforts and sacrifices of those who do a *lot* more than you for good causes. Put up or shut up. Because right now, most of you don't seem to do *shit*.
