I thought the book, and Roy, brilliant. He, of course, was smitten.

I'd no idea Faubus' sister had stood up to her brother for his ugly bigotry, so I'm glad to know the story. Why anybody maintains ties with such family members is beyond me. I say that as a Bates.

I mean, if I were Florence Hitler . . . well, first of all I'd be in my 70s . . . but I would have toddled out of Berchtesgaden, changed my name to Nightengale or something, emigrated to New York, gone into show business and never looked back.

Bonnie Lou Faubus Salcido was right: "He left a scar on the state of Arkansas that will remain forever." I've no idea what The Natural State's rep was BEFORE, but it's been synonymous with dumb, mean and ugly ever since.

Nearly 60 years later, your recent legislature went all in with dumb, mean and ugly, reinforcing your horrible image for another I don't know how many y- --

Oh, who cares about Arkansas any more. Arkansans obviously don't.

Of course, every Scout Troop, church choir, sewing circle, deer camp has a few gays if it is has enough members.............but in Arkansas most of those will stay in the closet.

I would expect that Central, Hall, Fair, and Parkview each have a handful of openly gay students, but I don't think the number of students age 11-17+ who are gay AND who desire membership in Scouts is very high.

Talk to former Scouts age 25 to 40. Many of them had friends in Scouting who later came out. I don't think that is going to change much yet.

Guess I'm gettin' a little too old for this. But. How much do they pay?
Problem is, I've never been a football fan and never will be. Do I have to do anything except show up in a pair of yellow pedal pushers, the last thing I wore to a football game?
Still don't know what the heck was going on out on the field -- and can truly say I didn't -- and don't -- care.
