We just missed the Iron Skillet. Only so many places you can hit before breakfast closes and as neither of us live up there, the number of research trips were limited and they were closed both times we drove by. Where were you when my boss did the big call outs for suggestions? Hmmmm? We actually walked around Dixon street asking for suggestions. However, sounds like a good excuse for a follow up story. However, I assure you my breakfast at Common Grounds was not microwaved. The bagels and lox were to die for.

p.s. Greenhouse is only a Sunday brunch and hence was not covered by this article.

I realize that it is difficult making lists like this one. But you honestly need some assistance if you think this is the best breakfast that Northwest Arkansas has to offer. If nothing else, you need to know for your own enjoyment!

1) Greenhouse Grille in Fayetteville. (I know, technically it is a Sunday brunch.) Best bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits around. The blueberry and walnut Belgian waffle puts anything from Waffle House (blech), or anywhere else to shame. Not only is this the best breakfast in NW ARK, but IMO it is the best breakfast in Arkansas. B-side wishes that it were Greenhouse Grille.

2) Little Bread Company in Fayetteville. Did you not actually go to Fayetteville? Common Grounds microwaves their food. Little Bread makes their own pastries daily. AND they serve the bad ass Baba Boudan's coffee.

3) Rick's Iron Skillet in Fayetteville. For the "oh-god-I-don't-think-I-will-be-able-to-move-the-rest-of-the-day" category. I get full just thinking about it.

4) Taco Place in Fayetteville. "What? A mexican place?" Damn right. They bring you salsa and chips with your oh so perfectly greasy bacon/egg/and cheese. Seriously cheap, and seriously delicious.

I know that my suggestions are Fayetteville heavy...I just thought that was a glaring omission in your list. These are 4 of the top 10 reasons that I miss that town. At least 2 out of those 10 are not suitable for printing.

So do yourself a favor and check these places out. You can thank me later.
