ok so what the hell does it matter what people think? as the "brother on drugs" in this story, i can say that none of you truly know anything about my family. My father and mother both were and are the most amazing parents to ever live. Yes they have made mistakes but haven't we all. Who else can say that through all the chaos and pain they still came out the other side as a family. My parents are back together and very happy, my sister is doing great, and I am happily married to a beautiful woman who loves my family and i very dearly. i know that this is a little late in the post calender but it needs to be known in some why. So to all those who think they know best, take a seat in the john, wait five minutes, then turn around and sniff........Guess what, it stinks too!

May God bless and be with this child, and may she never again be abused and may she learn to watch out for abusiveness for herself and others in the future. That being said, the mother needs to be in therapy to learn parenting skills and the father needs to learn to be less co-dependent and more in control of himself. What is to stop them from bringing another person into their family with similar traits as the perpetrator again? They need to learn that they cannot trust another person again like they trusted this perp. They need to stop thinking about themselves and to spend all their time taking care of their daughter and caring about her needs and how to provide for her and spend some real time with her doing things she enjoys, her hobbies and interests. Do not let someone else get out and play with your kids. Outside of family, people really are not interested in playing games with your kids. Watch out for everyone, in this day and age. At this point, the identified person for therapy is the child. The parents need to go and get therapy also. For the sake of the child. They do not know how to protect her against mean people. Many blessings and God speed to this family.

How is it we allow these predators, after we find out they have destroyed young innocent lives, to join us back in society? In my opinion, there is no greater crime than what this man did. The only worthy punishment for a crime like this was handed out about 25 years ago in St. Francis County, but folks thought that was a little over the top. This bag of excrement will answer to his maker, but on this earth, his acts are unforgivable. People like this man--if we aren't going to lock them away forever, should be branded with a mark on their foreheads for everyone to see, so they would be forever shunned by all decent peoples.

Ooooooo! Struck a nerve with Norma Bates, did I? Good. Norma, I’m not going to get into a spitting contest with you. Despite your sarcasm, you explained it better than I did and made my points about sociopaths for me. Thank you! By the way, you put in more “facts” about poor Alle than were in the tabloid article. That indicates that you would have to be an insider, like a family member, involved official, or Times staffer.

Norma Bates

      B. Donalson – thank you for waking us all up!

I knew from your opening two sentences: “People are so gullible. I can't believe that Mara Leveritt wrote such a one-sided story without analyzing the situation.”

Right away I knew we were in good hands. Everybody is so gullible. (Thank God YOU’RE not!). We can look to you for the truth, here. Not only are we, your readers, all gullible (thanks for telling us; maybe now we can turn our lives around), but Mara Leveritt is one-sided and her whole story is “without analyzing.”

I know that’s right.

As if begged, YOU proceed to analyze it all brilliantly, B. Donalson! Honestly, where would we be without your looking “into this child’s fiction with an unbiased eye?” Alle’s fooled everybody but you and the gullible community is grateful.

Let’s see. She’s fooled her grandfather, both her parents, her brother, her hotline people, her friends in Hillcrest and Cathedral School, Zay Whitaker, her dad’s boss, the personnel at the hospital where her dad detoxed, his pals at Alcoholics Anonymous, the police who charged Whitaker with rape and sexual assault, the Little Rock judge who granted the order of protection AND Circuit Judge Herbert Wright, her counselor Angela McGraw, the staff at Safe Places, her psychiatrist (surely the LEAST analytical among this bunch of gullible fools, B. Donalson, am I right?) and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Rounding off I’d say at least 100 people were taken in by this child’s lie. You saw through it all along. You alone.

Just a coupla quibbles, B. Donalson, and I’ll wrap up. Don’t want your head swelling!

You say Whitaker doesn’t fit the profile by encouraging Alle’s dad to get her into therapy. “Why would a rapist care about his victim's mental health?” you ask.

Far be it from me, B. Donalson, just one in a world of gullible fools, to remind you that sociopaths, including child molesters, aren’t interested in anybody’s mental health, least of all their own.

Sociopaths are about power, control, grandiosity, elevating themselves by manipulating and diminishing others (who are just objects and not real human beings) through histrionics.

I needn’t review the old tactic of requesting therapy for their victims (even themselves, as a last resort) -- a common and terrific feint for sociopaths to gain another layer of cover and make fools of still MORE people – like therapists.

“But she’s LYING, your honor! Why would I have suggested therapy if I had done anything wrong!”

See, B. Donalson, to sociopaths EVERYBODY else is wrong, foolish, stupid, gullible. Sociopaths KNOW it. Facts cannot dent their certainty. Making therapists look stupid is the sociopath’s crack.

How COULD trained professionals, much less the gullible public like Mara Leveritt and us, believe this girl’s lie? I feel terrible now, thanks to you.

We appreciate your detailing and discounting all the family’s generational dysfunctions, B.D.

May I call you B.D.? I feel like I know you.

You’re so right, B.D. People with all THAT dysfunction in their backgrounds, which Mara uncovered and relates, can never tell the truth. And truly abused children NEVER lie to protect themselves and their family and their abuser, or deny the abuse to authorities. NEVER!

Then – my last little quibble, B.D. – you dredge up the 1980s child abuse cases! “All those lives that were destroyed when children, prompted by police and psychiatrists, lied about abuse.”

You mean like the McMartin thing in California? The ensuing copycat rash of other “satanic child molester” cases around the country spearheaded by fundamentalist Christians? None of which turned out to be true – lack of evidence – but sold lotsa books? That what you mean, B.D.?

Sorta like the Memphis 3, now that I – oh, never mind.

All the ACTUAL evidence ultimately showed those pre-K children being repeatedly prompted and manipulated by adult “authorities” to tell these fabrications.

So what you’re saying, B.D., absent any such evidence in Alle’s case, is that she’s somehow comparable to those 1980s cases where pre-K kids were prompted to lie and hence destroyed people’s lives. Right?

You’re saying people prompted Alle, well beyond pre-K age, to lie about Whitaker to over 100 people?

Well, thank God for you, AGAIN, B.D.! The rest of us gullible non-analytical souls would never have seen any relation between Alle’s case and the rash of trumped-up 1980s satanic child abuse cases if it weren’t for you!

You’re truly unique and AMAZING, B.D.! I hope word spreads and you become FAMOUS and are honored for seeing through this case when everybody else’s eye was blind or biased.

Because, dumb as we are, we don't want to see an egomaniacal sociopath act out delusions of power through childish but destructive attention-getting Dramas and Lies about herself versus everybody else.

Or himself, B.D.

And make fools of us in real life OR on blogs.

We really don't.

People are so gullible. I can't believe that Mara Leveritt wrote such a one-sided story without analyzing the situation. Here we have a father who is an alcoholic, a mother who played at being a teenager, a brother on drugs, and last but not least, a preteen on medication, including steroids. The preteen calls a hotline and claims that she has been raped but medical evidence doesn't support her claim; lies about her family; and she herself takes the name of the man she has accused. Her parents admit the child has been neglected, and the father states that Whitaker told him twice that she needed therapy. Right there he doesn't fit the profile. Why would a rapist care about his victim's mental health? Her father says that he can't believe that his best friend did it. The child has admitted that she lied to the hotline. To summarize the story: A dysfunctional family who neglected their daughter wants a Gold Star for shifting their guilt trip onto what appears to be the only person who expressed any concern for her. Shades of the 1980s! Remember all those lives that were destroyed when children, prompted by police and psychiatrists, lied about abuse? Has anyone looked into this child's fiction with an unbiased eye?

This silence has to be broken. These children blame themselves so often,It's not their fault, and so many parents do nothing about this. That is what this article is about people. Everyone I have asked either knows a victim,is a victim or both. Our children do not have the skill to cope with this kind of trauma.Children that get help can help others, through this process they heal.

This young girl has been through so much in her life, but in many ways, she is taking back her life by being courageous enough to to use her voice and committed enough to seek the help she needs.

As a community, we must be gratified every time we hear a victim speak well of our law enforcement, our prosecutors, advocates and counselors, and others who work to ensure that victims are treated with respect and justice.

Good for this family! Good for those who have worked with them and who continue to provide long-term support!

And most of all, good for this young girl who will continue to move through all that has happened to her, becoming a little stronger each day!
It takes courage to heal, and Alle has found that courage within herself.
