You know I don't work for Pulaski county or the city of Little Rock. In my opinion just because people work in public service should not mean that they have to give up their anonomity and privacy. If I were a skilled identity thief, all the info is here on this website to make these public workers victims of identity theft.Come on now,you guys place how long they worked at a current job?? That right there is vital info. All an identity theif need is a name and a place of work. Also you don't know the personal issues that these public workers may have with other people outside their family. They may not want to be found by some person that's giving them issues.
It seems as though there is a growing disdain for public workers. I think people don't realize that if it were not for goverment workers whether local or federal, that public workers is the major cog for local economies. Don't believe it. Well what if for some reason that the state capitol is moved out of Little Rock to some other city in the state? That would be a devastating blow to Little Rock. Also what if the Little Rock Air Force base left also? Little Rock would be reduced to another small city in Arkansas because the money base would be diminished. You know If you gonna be fair with FOI,why not use those FOI powers to ask for military names and salaries? (That would be stupid wouldn't it?) If it would be stupid to use FOI for military names to be published, the same logic should be applied not to publish names of local public workers names also. A public worker's safety and security should not be compromise with their name all over the internet just because a taxpayer has a desire to know.
