Hey November, ya maroon! How ya doin'? Hey I just wanted to let you know I think that God apparently doesn't give a damn about babies aborted or unaborted based on how He treats them in the Bible:

It's long, if you don't want to read all this, it's basically God killing babies or saying he will kill babies and children for nothing they actually did.

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces.
2 Kings 2:23-24

Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants.
Isaiah 14:21

The people of Israel are stricken. Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more fruit. And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children.
Hosea 9:11-16

Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told.
Ezekiel 9:5-7

If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted.
Leviticus 26:21-22

Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children.
Isaiah 13:15-18

This is what the Lord of hosts has to say: 'I will punish what Amalek did to Israel when he barred his way as he was coming up from Egypt. Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.
1 Samuel 15:2-3

Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock!
Psalm 137:9

Notice that captive children and women are gruesomely killed for God. They're blamed for the actions of their families. There's no mercy at all. And God approves of it as long as you're one of his chosen. "But wait! What about Jesus?" Jesus approved of the Old Testament, as he said he came here to fulfill the law, not abolish it. The Law he is referring to is the Jewish Torah, of which many of the above passages are taken from.

Here is my question for you. Why would you want to praise a God who condones, nay encourages baby murder? And give me a straight response, no dodging the question, no answering with another question or replying with an ad hominem attack. Gimme a straight answer, dammit!

As in all things political, money distorts perception of reality.

I've always had a beef with SGK's LR chapter making their Race females only (and male survivors of breast cancer), but generally gave them a pass. Whom could oppose what was portrayed as a worthy cause?

Been pretty busy with other things past few days to comment here, but SGK has certainly Jumped The Shark with their antics. Personally, I think the fix was in with SGK in drafting their current policy to prohibit Planned Parenthood breast screening/treatment funding as a "investigated org" and bringing in a failed Georgia GOP Gubernatorial candidate (Karen Handel) in their upper leadership. Perfect cover and most would still buy into the myth created over years in a pink-colored facade.

It didn't work.

Komen is dead to me. Dead as a doornail.

I will never support that sorry excuse of an organization. BTW, I have already made a small donation to PP. FWIW, I also found out, the Arkansas Chapter of Komen NEVER supported Planned Parenthood breast screening/treatment, hence to pacify the religious conservatives that dominate Arkansas culture long before Karen Handel got her fake nails into the SGK leadership.

And for the lapdog media (especially local television), I hope the newsdirectors realize the Little Rock SGK Race For Cure is a non-event and stop covering it like the damn Super Bowl every year (up to and including On Air talent wearing pink).

Thank you for staying on top of this, Norma. I'll fly wing for you when I can.

Charles Pierce explains to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear that it is the repubs who want to turn the USA into Europe by adopting their austerity plans which ARE NOT working out for them. We are quite a bit farther along in our recovery. All of the austerity they have wreaked on their peoples has stalled recovery. Let's hope they get their economic engines started before going into a nose dive which would be felt over here.

http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/aust…

Romney endorses Paul Ryan's budget plan in which two thirds of the cuts fall on the least of our brethren without raising taxes on the uber wealthy. The idea that poverty is the wage of sin has been with us a long time. Pierce cites Jonathan Edwards' sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God". English Victorians were enthusiastic about the idea that poverty purifies the soul.

The English resorted to exporting their "social problems". Two thirds of English settlers to the American colonies before the revolution came as indentured servants. When that outlet was no longer available to them, Australia became the destination of choice. There were 222 capital crimes on the books in England---most of them crimes against property. It was known as the Bloody Code. One could be sentenced to "The Fatal Shore" for stealing a loaf of bread or a pair of gloves---a better outcome than befell Michael Hammond and his sister, Ann, whose ages were given as 7 and 11, and were reportedly hanged at King's Lynn on Wednesday, 28 September 1708 for theft.

Now there is no where left to colonize, unless Newt gets that moon base thing going. We know what works. The Scandinavians have shown us the way. Or we can build ever larger prisons. We are truly at a fork in the road. Do we want to be Victorian England or Norway?
Their just-invented rule to not fund grants to organizations and programs "under investigation?" Like the phony "investigation" quickly trumped up against Planned Parenthood by SGK's anti-choice ally in Florida? That gives SGK cover for dropping PP funding instead of admitting the real reasons? The New Rule Nancy Brinker adamantly insisted to Andrea Mitchell was fair and balanced and for the good of women everywhere? SGK's New Rule that's ONLY being enforced against Planned Parenthood?

It's NOT being enforced against Penn State, for instance, which receives a $7.5 million SGK grant.

You may remember Penn State, under a REAL investigation for Jerry Sandusky's alleged child molestations and the university's lengthy cover-up.

Nancy Brinker lies to Andrea Mitchell when claiming the New Rule applies equally to "everybody."

It doesn't, Razorbabies. It only applies to it's target: Planned Parenthood.
Larry -

The "freaky-looking SGK spokeswoman" is Nancy Brinker -- FOUNDER of SGK and, as article after article in the past 48 hours attests, an equal right-winger to Karen Handel, the SGK VP "the Board" (read Nancy Brinker) hired.

Both are about punishing women with their unequivocally "pro-life" anti-science anti-medical anti-women "faith"-based agenda.

Watch it. Andrea Mitchell has known Susan Brinker for years. Andrea Mitchell has actively supported SGK for years and is a breast cancer survivor herself. Andrea Mitchell doesn't pull punches, while maintaining professionalism.

Watch Nancy Brinker evade, lie and dissemble. She NEVER answers Andrea Mitchell's pointed questions. Just keeps dodging, switching to her boilerplate talking points and shooting messengers.

That's what liars (and right-wing trolls) do. That's what characterizes them on this and other blogs across the land. That's what characterizes Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Donald Wildon, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter, the entire GOP POTUS field (who just signed their infamous anti-choice anti-woman pledge to placate and capture votes from people like Nancy Brinker and Karen Handel), et al, in politics and the media. They play on "faith," misogyny, division and bigotry to seize power with their agenda.

Watch her. WATCH Nancy Brinker, founder of SGK.

Watch her, Sherrie McBryde. Nancy Brinker is who you ultimately work for, there in Arkansas. Even from Malibu and solely from posts on this blog, you're defensively bobbing and weaving out of the gate just like your boss.

Unbelievable! That the founder and head of SGK turns out to be a right wing bigot hell-bent on doing precisely what she insists she's not: defunding Planned Parenthood, lying about what it does, lying about the origin of the "investigation," lying about Karen Handel's role, lying about what's on SGK's Facebook page, lying about how much "support" SGK is getting for this decision, ALL to hurt and punish women who don't conform to SGK's right-wing religious agenda. Women who have "sinned" with an unwanted or unintended pregnancy, or are about to "sin" by using contraceptives, morning-after pills or choosing an abortion.

That's nothing to do with medical testing, advice and health care for women and everything to do with bullying, threats and demonizing.

That's nothing to do with "the mission" and everything to do with amassing money and political power to force a hideous hurtful fundamentalist agenda on lives of supposedly free women and unwanted children.

Watch, Razorbabies. Watch Nancy Brinker defiantly stonewall breast cancer survivor Andrea Mitchell to her face on national television.

Calls for SGK to "rescind" their withdrawl of funds from Planned Parenthood are meaningless in light of revelations that SGK is run by right wing liars who've concealed their agenda and tactics for years.

What. They've suddenly changed their minds, will renew Planned Parenthood's grant after all, and promise to mend their ways in future?

What good's their word? What value is a promise from people who only rehabilitate, miraculously, when caught?

Once trust is gone you've nothing left except to other liars.

Watch this woman and ask if you will ever give another dime to SGK instead of Planned Parenthood. Nancy Brinker is everything you've heard and will hear about her.

She's the same unblinking ever-in-denial vengeful wild-eyed religious fanatic we've seen in Mel Gibson on Diane Sawyer, Tom Cruise on Oprah, and Taliban everywhere.
We get to watch Komen sliced & diced in all directions and Justin Harris is backing down and soon will be caught drinking with the Devil if it means he gets to keep all those free bucks from the state. I hope Beebe puts an inspector on the door from here on out.

Not because teaching little kids to sing songs about Jesus is dangerous, but because it's unfair to make the little kids learn songs about only one brand of Jesus. If Harris will spend they next 12 years teaching kids songs from all 5700 plus recognized brands of religion....I'd be good with it.

Here's a nice little Muslim children's song to start things off. No need to thank me Justin, you'll be too busy finding 5699 other kid's songs to keep it fair for all the little kids.
How's about "Race for the Fewer?"

I knew the SGK insiders with whom I spoke Tuesday night were furious when they warned me of what was coming. So was I.

Apparently, they weren't insider enough, because even they are completely disillusioned with the revelations about the organization's right-wing founder, its officials, and its ugly heretofore hidden agenda, particularly over the past five years.

Especially distraught are those who work for SGK in executive and staff positions.

"This isn't what I signed on for," said one. "We're in shock. I feel so stupid. I should have known. But no one did. We all believed in the mission -- or what they said it was. And now this. They've made bigots of us all. It's just devastating."

"If I could sue them for misrepresentation, I would. I'm serious," said an ED who's boosted her state's SGK Race and community profile tremendously since she was hired. "I'm looking into it. I doubt that I can. But aren't there laws about hiring people under false pretenses?"

Across the board, Razorbabies, this has been far more of a wake-up call about what religious right theocrats are really up to in this country (and how widely they've positioned their business and political allies throughout local and national government -- starting with the Supreme Court) than the alarms sounded by same-sex equality issues (including bullying and teen suicides).

The consensus is that same-sex equality, not far down the road, is a foregone conclusion. Even the religious right concedes that, while fighting it tooth and nail.

What nobody quite realized before is that one of the two primary national organizations for women's health care issues (the other being Planned Parenthood) was actively -- furtively -- working all along to control and limit medically accurate and truthful counseling on women's reproductive and health care options according to a woman-hating religious agenda -- and to eliminate funding for all real alternatives for those who need the information, exams, care and reproductive choices the most.

It's the difference between demonizing 5-10% of Americans (LGBTs) versus lobbying (in cahoots with Big Business sponsors) to legislatively assault 50% of the country (women) in the name of a vengeful "God," I guess, that's finally horrified the majority across party lines and generational demographics.

Destroying full-service health care availability for the most disadvantaged among us while lying about "doing good" compels a word I NEVER use because it's so facile and fraught. I haven't uttered it in years.

Here the word seems not only right and true but inevitable.

What they're doing is evil.

West Fork Theocrat Justin Harris says he will comply: but says there is no 'freedom from religion.'

"NORTHWEST ARKANSAS — Rep. Justin Harris, R-West Fork, said he told state officials Wednesday he will comply with proposed new rules instructing schools not to use taxpayer money to teach religion, but will fight some of the rules.

Among the proposed rules Harris said he will fight are those stipulating praying and singing religious songs are prohibited.

“We still can stop this from going where it is going,” Harris said. “I wanted to fight for the parents’ rights.”

Harris also told state officials he objects to their plan to inspect his West Fork preschool, Growing God’s Kingdom, before the new rules are implemented, he said. State officials, by late this month, were to conduct an unannounced inspection, said Amy Webb, state Department of Human Services director of communication. She said Wednesday the inspection had not taken place to her knowledge.

Harris said the issue for him is one of freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.
