More... The apparent state agency contribution to DPA occurred a couple of months after the inauguration.

And the April 15th, 2001 report lists:
Contributions: $862,095
Disbursements: $156,929

Did the inaugural committee have a big surplus left over after the big party?

The biggest disbursement was to Cajun's Wharf - $32,796. At least that makes sense.

Here was the text of the invitation - it does not mention the Democratic Party or party fundraising -

http://www.arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/archi…

If the invitation had properly disclosed that the ticket sales would be reported as contributions to a political party, the non-profits might have declined.

About that UA Foundation issue - Perhaps the Foundation wrote a check to an inaugural committee, but the Democratic Party of Arkansas reported them as contributions to the party in their April 15th, 2011 "Political Party Quarterly Reporting Form" filed with the Secretary of State. UCA and a state agency were also listed as party contributors. So far, I see no references to anything about the inauguration in the party's report. If the inaugural committee was co-mingling ticket revenue with same accounts used for general party purposes, it's just a big slush fund, and taxpayer money and non-profit money could be misused for partisan political activity.

The better way to do it would be to form a separate non-profit corporation for the inaugural committee, and keep those funds separate from party funds. A business entity search at SoS finds a foreign non-profit named "The Presidential Inaugural Committee", formed in 2001 and currently in good standing. So far, I can't find a similar non-profit for any governor's inauguration.

I have another gripe: it is impossible to get a stable URL for a document in the Secretary of State's financial disclosure database. The URL that worked yesterday links to a different random document today. These ever-breaking links make it difficult to do research. The whole system needs a big overhaul.

Damn it, Max! Now the whole state knows that mag won't let me within a mile of Hooters! She starts in a-cussin if I slow down as we drive by the place. Don't know why she cares...she's got the championship hooters of the world, no young thing has anything over her, her cups have separate zip codes.
I'll have to check my daughter's Facebook page to see if she's friends with Kaylee, but I sorta doubt it before I look. Aren't all women lovely? Who on earth would want to declare war on any of them?

Radical Centrist opened it last night on open line. In radical's link you saw a listing for

$2000 from Crossland Construction to Demo Party. That's the firm in Rogers, AR where

Teresa Oelke works and is married into the owners' family. Teresa, bless her heart, is on the Koch-Tea Party payroll.

And DBI......I thought about you this afternoon when I first saw this story. Based on her photos, this lovely young lady certainly deserved to win. How is the Ft. Baptist Chamber of Commerce handling this story?

Sure, silver. I'm headed out of town early tomorrow for a wedding in Norman, then on to NM again. I'll probably be gone til the end of the month. My sister has something undiagnosed. We thought it was gall bladder, but an upper GI was negative for that yesterday. Getting old is crappy.

I don't know about Allen Fieldhouse. The last time I lived in Kansas was 1958, although my sister lived in western Kansas until the mid 60's and she still has in-laws there.

Limbaugh Update for March 16, 2012

Following Rush Limbaugh’s sexist attacks on Sandra Fluke, 142 companies have indicated they do not want their ads aired on his show anymore. Here are 10 companies that are still doing the walk of shame on Limbaugh’s New York City affiliate (WABC) according to a report on Radio-info.com.
Limbaugh has expanded his media empire to Twitter — and has pledged to inspire his “army.” RL unveiled his Twitter account — with the simple handle “@limbaugh” — late Thursday and already has garnered more than 112,000 followers. "There's an army out there that wants to be mobilized, and so, I figured, use Twitter for it," Limbaugh said on his wildly-popular syndicated show. "I'm just going to put some things on Twitter that you can help us circulate,” he said. “It's that simple — you just retweet them.” The rarely-humble host even assured his fans — often known as Dittoheads for their penchant to blindly agree with Limbaugh — that "you don't have to follow anyone but me."
