I meant kid stuff, Arkie. Did you ever see that John Ritter movie 'Problem Child'. That was me after seven or so.

Once I was maybe seven or eight and I was at the base during the Open House, like they do up in Jacksonville every two years. I had slipped away from Mom for a bit to pee. The Thunderbirds were there, still flying their F-4 Phantoms, not the wussy trainers they switched to a year or two later. All kinds of cool planes were on display, too. Next to the San-o-cans was a hangar and I wandered in. I saw one of the big green fire engines they use for jet crashes and I manage to climb into the cab. Extremely cool crap was everywhere in there, and my eyes lit upon a big red button marked 'FOAM'. My mind screamed YES! and I mashed that fucker with all my might. Before my wondering eyes I see a mighty river of white burning-jet-fuel-smothering foam cascading forth and I start giggling like the Joker on acid. The next thing I know, an airman pulls me out of the cab and then he climbs in trying to turn it off. I quickly slip away back to where Mom was, but she looks at me and she KNOWS I've been up to mischief, but she doesn't know what kind. She sees all the people running into the hangar where the truck was and figures she'd better get me home. We leave quickly "to avoid the rush" and not a word about it was spoken, not even a "did you see what happened" or '"what were you doing?" I fucking got away with it entirely.

This is the kind of kid my poor schoolteachers had to deal with.

You know those school achievement tests where the whole class marked rows of dots? I remember I took one of those in fourth grade in Alaska, and then in California the next year in Fifth grade. Mom said I measured out at some obscenely high number, I forget now exactly what she told me but it was in the 160s. Rehabilitation Services tested me when I was trying to get help with college in my 20s and I tested a little lower, a result I consider valid, as I've studied psychological testing and research and even the methodology and statistics behind actual IQ tests like the Stanford-Binet and the Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale. No, I'm not going to tell what I scored but it's decent.

Anyway, my teacher announced that they were going to testing today, and I spent the entire day filling in circles with a #2 pencil. My fingers are sore. Holy shit, are they gonna do this to me every year? Fuck this! The second day I took the first test and turned it in record time, went and grabbed a book to read while waiting for the next test period to start, which was really all I wanted to do. Repeat over and over for days two and three. Two days where I could read and be more or less left alone. I was in bliss.

A few days later, maybe a week, my teacher looks at me and says 'I need to speak to you'. He then waves a scored test at me and complains that all I did was make patterns in the rows of dots and zig-zags and words and stuff. I said 'uh-huh'. "I'm gonna call your mother". "Yes, sir" I said and went back to recess. I never heard anymore about it but I'd betcha that Mom told him that he probably triggered my boredom/hyperactivity reflex and that he was lucky that's all I did. I mean, I could have purposely tried to answer every question wrong and go from genius to retarded in one year, but since I knew they wouldn't tell me how low I scored as to not damage my self-esteem, I figured 'what's the point'. It might have all been a bid for attention, who knows. I think I was just bored out of my mind with filling in those damned circles with a #2 pencil again

I think each school was glad to see me go, but I settled down after Dad retired and we moved here when I was 13. I decided that I'd better stop screwing up for the joy of it because I wouldn't be able to move away from the consequences of my actions anymore. Besides I wanted girls to like me and not think I was a freak or fuck-up so I quelled my impulses to be weird.

Hey Sunshine, so Obama got himself smuggled from Kenya right after he was born and got the State of Hawaii to go along with his birth certificate forgery, he then killed Andrew Breitbart with a secret heart attack-inducing ray gun, and then he mind-melded Rush Limbaugh to make Limbaugh call Sandra Fluke a slut? I'll even bet that Obama must also be behind all these silver foot-in-mouth gaffes that Romney's been making.

All of this overwhelming and irrefutable evidence can mean only one thing: Obama is a Sith lord. The Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded like Rush, Mitt and Rick. This meant that Barack Obama outsmarted Rush! And I mean just completely pwned El Rushbo! AND WITHOUT A TELEPROMPTER?

So which is it? Is Obama totally incompetent or the best Dr. Evil in public service right now? He can't be both, so which is it? You can't have it both ways.

I'd have to say that California schools were the best of my sample, while Alaska was the worst. Arkansas schools were better than Texas. If there was an B-52 wing stationed near you, then I probably went there. Arkie, we both have checkered permanent records for sure, and that's not even counting the stuff we did to get in trouble! Good thing they stop meaning anything the second you set foot on a college campus or start that first job after graduation.
Folks, don't forget that we are not only electing a president, we are also electing whomever they are beholden to in terms of the money and the help they used getting there.

Every time another Republican is elected, we are a little less free. Our nation would not long survive a conservative takeover.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why they despise and hate our country, our freedom and our constitution so much as to sell it to the highest bidder/campaign contributor.

Fittingly on a Sunday, it really does illustrate why Jesus literally said it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven. How many American citizens has Republican opposition to health care reform already killed?

Just can't get used to the notion of President Seamus Balmoral.

Neither can you, I'll bet.

Rick Santorum's demonic obsession of the week is porn. Doesn't like it, doesn't want you to like it, and ESPECIALLY doesn't want all those children looking at it. Uh . . . guess that's reason enough to take over the internet.

Now back to those wars on terror, African genocides, America's broken health-care system and the struggling-to-recover-from-the-last-GOP-administration economy.

But President Seamus Balmoral? In a minute. First . . . .

David Axelrod pretty much deconstructs the myth of Mitt Romney as a jobs-builder.

"I do watch him parading around the state calling himself an economic heavyweight. It's the same pitch that he made in 2002 to the people of Massachusetts and what happened? Massachusetts went from 10th in the nation in job creation to 47th. Their debt went up 16.5 percent; government jobs grew at six times the rate of private sector jobs. If that makes you -- if he thinks he's an economic heavyweight, he must be looking in a fun house mirror."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/18/d…

Now, Razorbabies, the porn connection.

Seamus Balmoral is Mitt Romney's pornstar name. (A beloved pet's name added to your childhood home's street name.)

Of course, Seamus Balmoral's house in Detroit was recently bulldozed.

An unfortunate metaphor, one senses, for another road along Mr. Romney's journey: the political one.

It's now a vacant lot.

What a poor excuse for reporting that article was. Basically a press release from the Republicans. No indication that the reporter asked a single question.

The major story of the last year has been how Republican controlled legislatures in other states have made attacks on workers' right, women's health and immigrants their top priorities after having campaigned in 2010 on economic issues.

Why did the reporter ask no questions about those issues?

I'm willing to bet that there will be multiple bills introduced on the first day of the session by the Republicans on those topics. And specifically, there will be a bill that mandates vaginal ultrasounds.
