Another reason for the move, as I've heard it, is the fact that until Occupy took that lot, it was used to park buses bringing in tourists/kids to the Museum of Discovery, Main Library, Historic Arkansas Museum, River Market Hall, etc., and as overflow for the Clinton Library bus parking. Once that was no longer an option, these entities began sending the buses across the river to the Dickey-Stephens parking lot. Now that the Travs season has begun, the use of that lot creates conflicts.

But to your question; I thought McCain–Feingold was more damaging. It violated the 1st Amendment. All the Citizens United Vs Federal Election Commission said was that you cannot restrict,penalize or jail citizens, or associations of citizens, for simply engaging in political speech.

I know you guys like to claim that it made corporations "a person" but actually it's just a collection of persons like a union. But you guys already know that and so does everybody else. So those "corporations are not people" signs just make you look like morons.

The case did not involve the federal ban on direct contributions from corporations or unions to candidate campaigns or political parties, which remain illegal in races for federal office.

John Anderson, I guess you didn't hear about Occupy Little Rock's protest at the Obama campaign HQ opening? NDAA was one of the main reasons for that protest. Everyone who voted for the bill should be ashamed of themselves, mind you, and so should President Obama for signing it.
An eyesore? What's really worse--a protest camp or the way that money in politics is destroying this country?

"It was an eyesore." An opinion expressed as if it were a fact with no evaluative criteria. Actually, given their record of respectful behavior and cleaning up, it would seem they were less an eyesore than crowds at a Razorback game or a River Market festival.

"They mean nothing." A statement contrary to fact. Therefore a lie. Even from this distance I can understand that they mean to give voice and bring attention to some of the concerns of the 99% of us who don't belong to the Lucky-Sperm Club.

"The stand for nothing." A statement contrary to fact. Therefore a lie. They stand for such things as the constitutional right of peaceable assembly, the freedom of speech, for the right of Habeas Corpus, and against the concept of the personhood of corporations.

If someone considers these things "nothing," I'd be interested to see his list of "something."

And I would be interested to see his list of actions taken in the effort to accomplish his "somethings"!
