Doigotta - The apparent legalization of necrophilia in Egypt as a result of the Arab Spring uprising was a surprise to me, but the legalization of child marriages and dismantling of women's rights was accurately predicted.

I note it here because some other forum contributors were promoting Arab Spring as a model for protests in this country.

RadCen, having been properly horrified and then reading the article you suggested, I must say that your tone and slant versus that expressed in the article seem to be a mite different. Did you mean to imply that sex with a dead spouse -- seems that there was talk of a woman being allowed to have sex with her dead husband, too -- was likely to become legal in Egypt?
"Egyptian husbands could soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives for up to six hours after their death, local media is claiming."

"The controversial new law is claimed to be part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament."

"It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women's rights of getting education and employment."
Some enterprising choreographer should create a dance honoring Paul Ryan and name it the Zombie Flip Flop. When Paul Ryan is not arguing theology with his church betters he is trying to deny his fealty to "his longtime girlfriend, nicotine-stained dominatrix Ayn Rand".

http://tbogg.firedoglake.com/2012/04/26/dr…

There could be a Romney variation of the dance called the Robot Flip Flop.

Charlie Pearce, well known Catholic, takes Ryan on using Aquinas. Pearce has been reading a lot of Catholic theologians lately due to his ongoing quarrel with the "Clan of the Red Beanie".

Here's the money quote from Aquinas:

"It is the hungry man's bread that you withhold, the naked man's cloak that you store away, the money that you bury in the earth is the price of the poor man's ransom and freedom." (Question 66, Article 7.)
KUAR all over the Ozarks?

Not north central.

Friday nights we head to our weekend place. Unless I can sneak off early we roll out of LR about 6 or a quarter till.

About the time "This American Life" show comes on and starts to get interesting, we hit Choctaw south of Clinton. Then on north slopes we get static and lose signal.

For months I was hoping the new tower/transformer thing a ma jig would cure our issue.

Then last Friday we tested my hopes.

No luck, practicaly the same. Maybe a little less cutting out but not any further north.

As I cut across Van Buren and Searcy Counties with their increasing occurance of rebel flags and other hints of racism (fire bombs etc) I think to myself, thsi is the main area that could use a little KUAR and less AFR (American Family Radio). Their motto should be "draping racism with the Bible and the flag)
Thank you for sending the information on the Fort Knox cancellation. While we do not have a policy for cancellation of performances due to an artist’s political speech or opinions, we are intently listening to all of the comments we are receiving. We are also evaluating the many factors that come into play when considering the option to cancel a performance. Such a decision is not something we take lightly.

We greatly appreciate that you took the time to address the issue with us.
Thank you,
Charles Eddie, thanks for that "Stand by Me" link. One of the things I miss about SoCal is the Sunday afternoon Cosmic Barrio on the public radio station. It was devoted to world music. Music IS the universal language. It was important in my home growing up, and it was an important part of my children's up-bringing.
