You all to the South are beginning to see what I have had to put up with for years. Everyone who runs for office in Benton County tries to prove they are more conservative than their Republican primary opponents. Democrats don't run anymore. Even candidates for purely ministerial offices, such as Tax Assessor, list "Conservative" as one of their assets, as if they are going to treat liberals such as I am any differently than the Republican majority. They never have, and I don't expect that they will start. It is such a charade, but it is something that is expected of any Republican candidate in today's politics of polarization. After all, it is us against them--and them are evil.

This applies to both Akin and the "homegroan" bigot.

We are making some dangerous assumptions. In a society of Faux news all day everyday, we assume that American voters are going reject a purposefully ignorant idiot. The party of Greedy Old Pharts has become a political powerhouse by appealing to ignorance, hate, fear, and the cold comfort in knowing that people will vote against themselves if a lie is repeated enough times.

Being anti-science is a badge of honor for the likes of Akin. Being anti-woman elevates the insecure male voter.

Contradictions of reality are their forte'. How else can a fundamentally christo-fascist party nominate a cultist and a randian atheist to head their party? How else can they be convinced that lowering a multi-millionaire's taxes by taking money from middle-class pockets is a good idea? How is less Medicare healthier?

While we are doubled over laughing at the latest stupid statement, the army of ignorance will march past us, laughing all the way to office.

Frankly, I am not electing a person to be a bishop or a pope or even an a muslim cleric, and this fascination that everyone must belong to one of the two "state religions" is just as small-minded as they get. I want someone who won't act like the American Taliban and try to shove their cult of relgion into the laws of the Republic. If I wanted to be SBC or CofC, I would join but I don't and I don't want my laws to reflect more southern bigotry. I want someone intelligent enough to know when to ask questions and certainly not someone like that idiot from Missouri. On the science committee in the House? No wonder the country is in such trouble.

I noted some literature on the counter at the feed store this morning and on the cover on attributes that should make me want to support the person if I lived in that county was "christian". Judging by the judgements being made by so-called "christians", give me an intelligent athiest or Sikh.

I don't know what business Ms Bentley owns, but if I lived near her she'd never get a speck of my money. We can win at the ballot box but we can also win by choosing who we spend our money with. I'd just as soon flush my little bit of money down the toilet rather than spend it with a hater.

Christian values is like the word classy, if you describe yourself as classy, you have no class. If you have to thump the Bible to get business or elected to public office, you really have nothing good to offer the general public.

Out of 535 members of Congress, 534 profess to be Christians...so we get it lady, you're a Christian, who ain't? I don't know you or Jay Barth personally, but I can bet you a million dollars Jay Barth & his spouse will taste my famous Cracker Chicken under my roof way before you do...in fact, stay off my lawn!

If you want to get real picky, Ms Bentley, according to the Bible you shouldn't run for elected office. You're supposed to stay home barefoot & pregnant...but only if there is a Mr. Bentley to knock you around or if the late Mr. Bentley has a single brother, your behind belongs to him. Don't just carry a Bible around, woman.....read it! (and weep)

Since any objective examination of the GOP's economic track record and their even wackier current notions reveals the abysmal truth and is bound to lead to their defeat, all they have left is the hope of marshaling their ignorant and religiously bigoted base -- then cheating voters out of their right to vote.

Or relying on the SCOTUS to appoint another disastrous GOP POTUS, instead of winning an honest election.

"[Paul] Ryan’s true constituency is the commentariat, which years ago decided that he was the Honest, Serious Conservative, whose proposals deserve respect even if you don’t like him.
"But he isn’t and they don’t. Ryanomics is and always has been a con game, although to be fair, it has become even more of a con since Mr. Ryan joined the ticket."
I live in this district. I have never seen or heard of this woman before this ad. An no one I have asked about her has heard of her either.

What this ad says to me is that she doesn’t know enough about the needs of our rural farming areas to address the actual issues we have. This ad tells me she is so uniformed she has to resort to pre-scripted Republican talking points. Someone in her camp might need to whisper in her ear that she is in a race to represent the people in this district, not a race for leader of Bible study.

And what I would like to tell her is how many people are laughing at her for even mentioning Dr. Jay Barth in this ad. I would be surprised if Dr. Barth has ever been to Yell or Perry Counties, and I would be even more surprised if there were very many people here who even know who he is. So what he has to do with our needs here is beyond me.
a package I'll be sending to Max upon his return.

It's a voter registration packet from COMMIT 2 VOTE 2012 sent by Focus on the Family
and National Right to Life in Colorado Springs, CO. Contains generic voter registration forms and how to register to vote BY MAIL.

To think all along it was inner-city Demos who could be registering unlawful voters.
